And I failed to see why it is a duplicate of MCPE-55. I didn't say that a joining player should have his last inventory, which of course would be nice, but that a disconnected player should have his stuff left where he was, as if he died, so that anybody could come and save the stuff instead of it being lost.
This is a suggestion for a workaround that would minimize the frustration caused by the bug that others gets disconnected too for no reason.
Resolved MCPE-55 and MCPE-262 as invalid, thanks. I believe MCPE-204 may be the result of a bug (an off-by-one error, see my comment on that ticket). I believe that MCPE-992, while not worded as a bug, may also be the result of a bug. I've tested it at length and mobs seem incapable of moving through deep water; I cannot imagine that this behavior is intended.
Keep in mind that when these tickets were filed, feature and improvement suggestions were also being tracked for MCPE, and they would occasionally get misreported as bugs. There was no reason to close them at that time, since they would have been acceptable as non-bugs.
If you think the behavior described in this ticket is the result of a bug, please explain what the bug is. Is there an animated lava texture included in the game, but it fails to animate? If that's the case, maybe it's a bug. If there's no animated lava texture, it's a potential improvement to media assets, not a bug.
If you find anything else, please let me know.

Does MCPE-55
describe your issue?
This is not a bug... If you join another players seed of course you will not have anything in your inventory. Get your friends to craft some extra tools then join them.
This is when reconnecting, and we are aware of this issue. The thing is that the server currently doesn't identify players. This will be fixed at some point in the future.
Richard, what you are describing is entirely unrelated to this issue.
I am a well-established player on my community server. I logged off on Friday evening, and logged back in shortly afterwards and I found myself at spawn with none of my items on me and my Enderchest empty. I did not join as a new player. Rather, my character data was affected by this bug which screwed me over.
I'd prefer that Mojang raised the priority of this bug. It can be quite crippling and frustrating, especially when it happens twice in the span of two hours as it did to me.
Timothy, tickets prefixed with MCPE are for Pocket Edition.
They are? Dang it. Okay, I'll find one for regular MC.
This is more of a feature request than a bug. It should be resolved when online multiplayer support is added.
