The bug
When a mob or player gets attacked by the thorns enchantment it doesn't take any knockback. It just takes damage, which doesn’t make any sense. On java edition and legacy console Edition it also gets knocked back.
How to reproduce:
- Put on an armor with thorns
- Get a mob or player that attacks you
What I observed: The mob took damage but did not get knocked back.
What I expected: The mob gets damage and gets knocked back.

The Bug
The fire ball that is shot by blazes doesn’t deal any knockback. This is also related to MCPE-56212 where the thorns enchantment doesn’t deal knockback. I can confirm that on java editon you do get knockback by the fire ball.
How to reproduce:
- Spawn a blaze
- Switch to survial mode
- Wait until the blaze shoots at you
Expected result: You get knockback when the fire ball hits you.
Actual result: The fire ball didn’t deal any knockback.

Summary:
When taking damage from Guardian/Elder guardian thorns, the player takes damage, but is not knocked back.
Guardians have spikes which work like thorns. On bedrock edition you don’t take knockback from them unlike in java and legacy console Edition.
Despite the fix MCPE-56212.
Steps to reproduce:
- Summon Guardian / Elder guardian (best on land).
- Attack him before taking damage from thorns.
Observed results:
The player was not knocked back when taking damage.
Expected results:
Knocking back the player from Guardian/Elder guardian spikes will work.
