MCPE-8877Custom skins not working on Amazon Fire TV
Version on the title screen claims to be "0.11.1 alpha".
It is not possible to choose a "custom" skin on the Amazon Fire TV. The option can highlighted, it changes to the word "Browse" but cannot be selected. It is therefore only currently possible to choose Alex, Steve or the City/Town folk skins.
Even when a skin was "side loaded" to:
~/games/com.mojang/minecraftpe/custom.png
The skin was rendered but could not be selected.

Thank you for using the bug tracker, however, this is a duplicate of now reopened MCPE-8877. Additionally, I made you the creator of that ticket so you can change it to fit your own description.
I believe this is still an issue with 0.12

It still affects 0.12
Issue still occurs in Amazon Fire TV.
Skin menus are not fully operational.
Still affects 0.13.1 alpha
Please confirm if this issue still affects 0.14.1
Sadly, yes. If you hover over the "Custom" skin, the word changes to "Browse", if you attempt to select it (pressing A on the controller) then the grey rectangle cursor highlights Alex/Steve or whatever skin pack you last selected a skin from.

Just attempted to load in custom skin but got the same problem as above.... Latest version of Minecraft installed V0.15.9
Also when attempting to change gamertag name you have the same issue - when you press the button to select it doesn't work.
Seems to be still an issue for some people in 0.15.9, see
MCPE-17283.Changed reporter to person who has the issue on the duplicated issue.
Does this bug affect 0.16.0? If so please respond.
Still affects 1.0.
This ticket has been resolved as 'Cannot Reproduce' as it has no response was received recently.
I believe this is still an issue with 0.12
