Water texture rises above top surface of waterlogged leaves/top-slabs
When water or a water-source-logged block is placed below leaves or buttons, the water texture rises to fill the block space. If this is tested using a waterlog-able block, the water will render as an overlay to the block.
Steps to Reproduce
- Create a 3x3 platform of full blocks
- Break the block in the center
- Place water in the center
- Place any leaves in the space
- Place another one on top of the center leaf
Video Example
Original Description

Confirmed on Windows 10. Placing glass blocks or buttons on top of a waterlogged top slab surrounded by solid blocks produces the bug.
Update: this was already reported at MCPE-90780, so resolving as a duplicate.
This issue is much worse in 1.16.201 Hotfix than what the original images on this report show. The image of the stair attached on 20/Apr/21 shows what it looks like in the current version.
Seems similar to MCPE-90780 and MCPE-31091.

Does this only occur with candle cakes on chunk section borders (Y = 15, 31, 47, 63, etc.)? (See MCPE-90780.)

Could not repro on win10 version. What device was used to reproduce the issue?
Confirmed for 1.16.221 Hotfix on Windows 10. The effect is easier to see if you use a top slab for the waterlogged block. The water can be seen through any transparent block, for example glass blocks or buttons.
The best way to reproduce this is with the waterlogged block at the top of a chunk section, i.e. at Y = 15, 31, 47, 63, 79, etc. However, the effect is visible from farther away with waterlogged blocks at any Y-level. See Funny water leaky stone.mp4
