I made a cake, and the crafting table absorbed my buckets. They weren't returned, not even after closing the app and re-opening it.

I just crafted a cake and it consumed my 3 buckets.. (Expensive cake!) Playing Windows 10 Edition of 0.12.1 - Please reopen this if possible
Issue is happening in 13.1 on Windows 10 Enterprise x64

This issue also happened to me on Windows 10 beta v 0.13.1.
Re-opened since this has reappeared in 0.13. It's not in 0.14 beta testing, but that's Android exclusive, so we'll keep this open until we can see if win10 is ok.
