Lines render at the corner of the sky when FOV is specifically 90 and when the rotation is set to specific values..
Note: I'm playing with absolutely no modifications, pure vanilla Minecraft, no data packs, no resource packs, and no mods, and in singleplayer. In my survival world ever since I updated to 1.17, whenever I slept in a bed I noticed something weird where there were strange white lines rendering at the corner of the sky. When I got out of bed the lines didn't vanish, but as soon as I moved my rotation, they vanished. It eventually annoyed me so much I tested this in another world and found the same result, But then I realized it is because the bed sets me at rotation of 0 0. And I was right because with commands to be set at rotation 0 0, the lines appeared, but when I rotated they disappeared. I like to have my FOV higher than normal at 90, and when I adjusted my FOV to any other number I noticed the lines didn't appear at 0 0 rotation. After many many FOV adjustments I have to conclude this only happens with FOV at 90. But if you find these lines at another FOV setting please comment. I tested this in 1.16.5 and found this didn't happen, so this is a new bug from 1.17. I've searched very hard and found nothing such like this. If more information is needed please tell me, but to sum it up, to reproduce, create or join a world in 1.17 or 1.17.1 Pre-release 1, set the FOV to 90, make sure cheats are on, then run the command: /tp @p ~ ~ ~ 0 0, alternatively, instead of running the command you can sleep in a bed and get the same result, when one of these two things are done, notice the white lines in the corner of the sky. Also, I just realized this happens with rotation as -45 0, if you find this happening at any other rotation values please tell me.

Lines render at the corners of the sky when FOV is specifically 90 and when the rotation is set to specific values.

I also found out that hitting the ground causes the lines to vanish and appear 1/2 a second later. Also this doesn't happen in spectator or with swiftness or slowness or nausea or blindness effect which I suspect is because it changes the FOV I've tried to adjust the FOV to see if I could get it in spectator mode which I was unsuccessful, comment if you found the FOV for spectator that causes the bug. I understand that a very small number of people will ever find this bug since most people play with FOV at other settings I assume, but this is very annoying for the people who play with FOV at 90 because every night we sleep in our beds we will see those annoying lines in the corners of the sky so I'm begging for Mojang to give this bug some attention.
Also, I just realized this also happens with rotation as 45 0, 90 0, 135 0, 180 0, 225 0, 270 0, and 315 0. Notice how the bug occurs every exact 45 degrees of rotation. I've also just discovered that if I move without rotating the lines vanish but when I stop moving after a duration of what I believe is a second, the lines reappear again. Also I just found out when jumping the lines don't vanish nor when I'm falling, nor when I'm flying with an elytra, however when flying in creative the lines vanish. I also found out that hitting the ground causes the lines to vanish and appear 1/2 a second later. Dylan Peterson and anyone experiencing this problem in 1.17 or later versions, please see this issue: MC-63340. This is most likely your problem.

This also has happened to me, but only in the new snapshots.
In the video it says in the command log doTilesDrops is set to false which means blocks will not drop itself. Therefor this is an intended game mechanic.
Can confirm in 1.17 pre-release 4
When I replaced the lava source with a block and broke the block there was no air block underneath. Also if it helps narrow down the bug, the seed of the word is 5887315100460707616 and the coordinates of the lava source block is 193 11 87. It may be slightly off as the block was already replaced and I'm having to recall it by memory as I forgot to turn on debug screen in the screenshot, but the general area is for certain correct and should at most be a few blocks off. Also also, I just entered the world seed and came to the location, and found out the lava flows fine, But in my initial world, this wasn't the case, a key difference is in the initial world the chunk was rendered from 1.16.5, but in this new world with the same seed in 1.17 prerelease 4, the chunk the lava was in is rendered in 1.17 prerelease 4, perhaps that is another factor.
Yeah, the bug is invalid, I never knew the lava actually flowed in the mineshaft because I replaced it before I found the mineshaft, leading me to assume it didn't flow in the mineshaft if it didn't flow in my mining operation either. Thanks for the explanaton.
It may not seem to make sense but this is actually an intended feature. So this is a feature request.
I still don’t hear it sometimes when I throw an item in lava and I’m playing 1.17. Anyone else still have this problem?
It's been literally 7 months can a helper please resolve or confirm this.

MC-218803. Check out the report and see how to fix this problem. Can confirm for 1.17.1 Prelease 1. I never found this bug when searching so I didn't realize I created a duplicate, here is the link for it does have detailed information
MC-229545. I also noticed the effects slowness, swiftness, and nausea cancel the bug from happening, as well as spectator mode. And falling or elytra will not cancel the bug, but moving and creative flying will. Also someone managed to produce this bug with 100 FOV instead of 90. Odd.I guess I needed to do a more thorough search. But although it is a duplicate, I do have key information that could be added on to MC-220195.

I was going to report this as a bug myself in 1.17 as it never rains for 100 days straight until I saw that this was resolved as works as intended. In other worlds it rains at a normal amount, but very rarely in a specific world. I know it's been a decade but I'm just pointing out I get this problem in one of my worlds.
This appears to be the bug for me. Can confirm for 1.17 and 1.17.1 Prerelease 1. I hope they fix this soon, and I'm glad they prioritize this as important, because it really is, especially considering that snowfall and thunder have a use now.
Con confirm for 1.17.1 Pre-release 2.
I get this issue as well. Can reproduce in 1.17.1 Pre-release 3.
I hope this bug gets fixed sometime because I very commonly see the white lines especially in the clouds and it gets annoying.
Can confirm for 1.17.1 Release Candidate 1.
