Default vanilla font has certain broken characters when italic, such as /\()xkQ48%^
Steps to reproduce:
- Copy the § character
- Paste it into a Book and Quill
- Type the letter 'o'
- Type or paste characters such as /()xkQ48%^
- Observe that the text is italicized, as it would be on previous versions, but it renders somewhat incorrectly and is slightly broken apart
Alternate steps to reproduce:
- Use an anvil to rename an item, containing some of the aforementioned characters
- Observe that its tooltip name renders them incorrectly

Has nothing to do with teleporting, it's the broken italic font. See MC-23928 and some other dublicates ...

@Grum:
http://i.imgur.com/8ELGI9T.jpg - the new stylish appearance of italic font isn't intended, right? Mind to take a look at MC-23928? Thanks !

Can confirm this
Confirmed.
Italics in 1.5.2 looks good.
I can confirm this.
@Kumasasa:
This relates to
MC-17673in some way. Grum Ninja-updated the 1.6.2.jar file early today to fix a problem with colored font mentioned inMC-17673, but this update broke the italic fonts. The 1.6.2.jar Mojang posted on Friday last week doesn't have this problem.Confirmed. Please fix.
Confirmed.
Confirmed
Pardon, but why is the resolved version marked as "1.6.2"?
So it looks like a ninja 1.6.2 update was pushed. Nice work.
Yep, it's fixed now. Thanks Grum
Thanks for the ninja fix, Grum! I'm glad this bug isn't being kept until 1.7!
However, I found that some characters still look strange when italicized - they didn't look like this in 1.5.2. I'll update the ticket; can this be reopened or is it Works as Intended?
Unable to reproduce your new problem.
