It's very difficult for us to read letters because the (Korean) consonants and vowels are not correctly positioned, and the sizes of each letter are all different.
For Example, 23w16a has almost the same size of all letters, but 23w17a does not.
Most of the letters are messy, but I only marked the difference that even those who don't know Korean(Hangul) can easily to find out.
I think the easiest solution is to apply the new font. (most of modern unifont's Hangul is difficult to read.)

It is not a duplicate of MC-262156 because it describes a very specific solution to the problem that can easily be applied unlike the previous report.
In addition, the other report tells about only font updated after the 1.20, the problem telling in this report applies to every previous versions as well as 1.20 and 1.20.1.
Confirmed. Besides inconsistent top and bottom alignment, other issues are also significant. The new font has distorted letters and inconsistent sizes for the consonants and vowels within each character (in Korean, consonants and vowels are contained within a single character).
It's like the handwriting of a 5-year-old learning Korean for the first time - it's barely recognizable.
Either bringing back the old fonts(but I understand that older Korean fonts have issues with open source license and a number of known problems) or officially borrowing the pixelated Hangul open source fonts from Mojang would be a solution to the problem.
The open-source fonts above support all of the fine-grained forms of Hangul, making them a good replacement for the fonts in the current snapshot.
Confirmed. It's really upsetting to see Mojang poorly treating Korean users who paid the same amount of money to play the game.
Plenty of other languages have been seemingly neglected as well ever since support for other languages has been a thing (
MC-121440,MC-178978, MC-188274). I'm not sure if any of those would be fixable by font change alone, though, but they definitely seem worthy of a "relates to" link."Won't fix"? At least explain why. new font is really, really bad and needs to changed before release.
If mojang really didn't change font, When new version released there will be tons of youtube videos complaining about font. I'm sure.

I was very disappointed with Mojang's response, and I think they treated Koreans poorly.
They didn't even explain why they won’t fix this issue.
And among many languages, only Korean has changed to be difficult to read.
I know, this is Unifont's fault. but Mojang choose Unifont among the other fonts. Isn't it?
Mojang is no longer an indie game company. Before making these font changes, the local community has to confirm that there are no problem, and if there are, Mojang should resolve it.
It doesn't seem to be right to pass over responsibility on customer to solve Unifont issue.
This is never a minor issue and should be fixed before 1.20 release. Please reconsider this issue, Mojang.

While I am also disappointed to see how Mojang communicates with the community, translators are working on this issue and it will eventually be fixed. We may not be able to meet the deadline of 1.20 release, but sooner or later the font will be replaced.
The original font was replaced by Unifont due to copyright issue. That is, the original font is used by a terminal software called HanTerm, but the font is only licensed to be used on the software, not anywhere else. Later on Unifont used a method to generate Hangul syllables through algorithms, see Generating Hangul Syllables (unifoundry.com). I encourage you guys to also contribute Hangul syllables to Unifont as well.
