windows 7 64bit minecraft 1.4.5 with optifine, modloader and rei's minimap however still present with a clean .jar file my java version is 1.7.0_09

Can confirm, happens only in direction f=3(east). Not sure if it is the same as MC-4009, but related for sure.

Pretty old bug, the repeater does not have to be facing a redstone torch either, it can be beside it, also, please remove environment info as this applies to any environment.
