double_stone_slab isn't obtainable through command /give
I tried it on command block as well,but it says ,as copied from command block, There is no such item with name double_stone_slab. However the block itself is still in minecraft if it was already placed. This problem only concerns 2 blocks though the double_stone_slab 1 8 and double_stone_slab 1 9. Attaching 2 screenshots,

This bug has been incorrectly marked as resolved, I can confirm that the bug still exists as late as 14w32a. While the command /setblock ~ ~ ~ double_stone_slab 8 works fine, attempting the command /give Tallone55 double_stone_slab 8
does not work at all, and returns the error message "There is no such item with name double_stone_slab."

2. mojang mentioned it themselves: the item forms of the double stone slab are removed HOWEVER the block forms remains because they are tecnical blocks

I tried the /setblock command and it worked i just needed to add 8 or 9 at the end to get the correct blocks. Thank you.
Why shouldn't they have an item? I actually use double slabs (specifically full slabs, which use the top texture on all sides) quite a bit in my builds.
Aww, why would you disable this? For some map makers, although it wasn't obtainable in the game, we already had it as a basic material. I know we now have Smooth Andesite, but it isn't the same (Doesn't look the same neither). I don't understand why do you disable it being placeable as a normal block, but you do let use the "setblock" command with it, it would be more reasonable either to remove both options or to keep them both (I sincerely prefer the latter one :c )

Look at the Resolution, not the Status. It's marked Works As Intended. You're not supposed to be able to acquire these blocks in your inventory. They were a bug that disappeared when they changed how items were defined. However, [Mojang] Grum (Erik Broes) has said they might change their minds on this, and several other blocks that are now unobtainable, and add them back into the game officially, with a proper item and crafting recipe.
Well I hope they change their minds and re-implement these blocks
