Unable to sign in - check your internet connection and try again
Can't play MCD anymore - game won't even get to the main menu.
It just gives the message "Unable to sign in. Check your internet connection and try again."; see attachment.
Well I checked my internet connection - it was still there. I tried again but got the same message.
I tried a different internet connection.
I repaired the game. I uninstalled and reinstalled.
I flushed the DNS resolver cache.
Thing is, the game was working fine up until I last played it, about a week or so ago. I have changed nothing. This problem has been going on for about 3 days now.
Every other game I own is working fine. My internet connection is working fine.
"Check your internet connection and try again" is a bit vague, really. There's nothing wrong with it.
Game is unplayable.

Which version of the game did you purchase? The launcher version, the Microsoft Store version, or the Steam version?

I'd like to add that I just tried installing the game on a laptop and it runs just fine. Not sure why the desktop has suddenly failed.
Did you install the new Minecraft launcher? If yes, does reverting to the previous one fix the issue? You can still download the old one here: https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/download

is the problem is windows 7 ? because i have the same issue as you
i got the windows 7 launcher, i installed it and the game worked fine on windows 10 (i tried on another computer of a familly member)
Even with the new update , i still can't play the game due to this bug ;(
