Summary:
The texture of some blocks disappears inside boats if the block is in the boat as an item and in a placed state.
Affected blocks:
- Slime Block
- Honey Block
- Ice
- Banner
- Glass
- Glass Pane
Steps to Reproduce:
- Place the boat.
- Throw the above blocks into the boat.
- Place the above blocks side by side.
- Get into the boat and approach the blocks so that some of the inside of the boat overlaps the texture of the placed blocks.
Observed Results:
The texture of items and placed items inside the boat disappears.
Expected Results:
The texture will not fade as with unspecified blocks.

The bug
While boats block the rendering of water as expected, they do not block seagrass from rendering. As a result, it can appear inside the boat.
This may be a parity issue by virtue of the existence of MCPE-139077, however testing is needed to confirm this.
How to reproduce
- Locate seagrass or tall seagrass (the latter is preferred due to its height) directly at the surface of water
- Place a boat on top
- Look closely
Expected results
The boat would appear normally.
Actual results
Some pixels penetrate through the boat from the seagrass.
This used to apply to torches:

Yes indeed. In version 1.17.30.22 there are no problems with torches either.

After consideration, the issue is being closed as Won't Fix.
Please note that this is not the same as Working as Intended, as this bug report correctly describes behavior in the game that might not be the intended or desirable behavior, but it will not be fixed right now. Sometimes, this is because the issue reported is minor and/or impossible to change without large architectural changes to the code base.
