Large mobs that are spawned on top of fire jump around and stay stuck on the fire
Some mobs that are spawned on top of fire (spawned by commands or spawn eggs) will jump on top of fire and will never wander away from the fire. If you knock the mob back while they are on fire, they will pathfind themselves back to the fire and burn.
The following mobs are:
-Turtles
-Pandas
-Polar Bears
-Horses
-Donkeys
-Mules
-Zombie Horses (Sometimes they don't)
-Skeleton Horses (Sometimes they don't)
-Iron Golems
-Ravagers
To Reproduce
1. Use flint & steel or fire charge for fire
2. Spawn one of the following mobs on top of fire
Note: The iron golem is able to attack any hostile mob, but they will not chase them as they are standing on fire. Skeleton and zombie horses sometimes don't jump around the fire. Babies mobs aren't affected.

This issue is already fixed fixed for buttons: MCPE-49772. Jumping around in fire is partially tracked at MCPE-44572 but that specific issue only applies to mobs >1 block wide. Jumping when pathing over pressure plates is tracked at MCPE-102812. I cannot reproduce jumping around in flowers, grass, carpets or dead corals.
What I can reproduce:
- Jumping when crossing onto carpet and coral. This is the same behavior tracked for pressure plates at
MCPE-102812. - Jumping around in fire. Mobs that are > 1 block tall jump around when trying to path through fire. (Pathing through fire at all is a separate bug,
MCPE-23835.)
To make the report more accurate and focused I am going to revise it to focus on the initial jump when crossing onto these blocks.
Possibly the same issue as MCPE-44572.

Can reproduced with turtles.

Can confirm for 1.16 builds. My iron golem got stuck in fire and would not leave that area until I removed the fire.
I'm in 1.16.40 on iOS, and this bug seems to affect mobs that wander into fire as well, not just mobs that spawn on top of it. I saw a creeper walk into fire, jump around in place, and then eventually "wander" out of the fire before keeling over. I noticed that creepers aren't listed as affected mobs, and the behavior I saw was a little different than what this report describes, since the creeper did manage to pathfind out of it, it just didn't seem to care to. I also tested spawning creepers and zombies directly on top of the fire, and the results here were the same as with the wandering creeper, except they didn't jump around. They also behaved the same way when spawned on top of magma blocks and campfires. After this, I tested mules because they are part of the list on this ticket, and I found that mules also had pathfinding struggles with campfires and magma blocks. Mules were able to move off of magma blocks that were placed at the ground level, but they couldn't get down from magma blocks that were placed on top of the ground. Mules spawned on campfires behaved almost exactly the same as mules spawned inside of fire, except they were sometimes able to get out of the campfire.
What all of the mobs covered by this report have in common is a hitbox larger than one block.
@thistriagonalsign: the issues you describe with magma and campfires are covered by MCPE-101670. Those issues are not related to the mobs’ hitboxes as this one is.
