can't open minecraftwiki at the moment - what other commands are disabled and why are they?
I downloaded the new launcher and downloaded 13w16a.
After waiting 2 hours for it to download when i launched it it would not work - it DID load the Mojang Splash screen but stayed on that - I took a look at the launcher to find it was a log and i saw (what looks to me like) an error:Client> java.lang.StringIndexOutOfBoundsException: String index out of range: -1

I agree it should be fixed (it is fixed for later versions)
I would like to know whether this was a bug or if Mojang did this on purpose? - how would i find out?
I just think it would have only broken if they did something to modify it

@Tyler You are correct - this is not a bug - just the username "Player" logging in twice.
some launchers like "Magic launcher" make your username show up offline - Nodus also works but it is a hacked client

Multiplayer servers have gone without a TNT gamerule since TNT was added - why cant they just keep going without a TNT gamerule?
EDIT: Could this be removed as BUKKIT has plugins and it also is not a bug!

working fine for me - open a game - press escape and check your controls are button 1 break and button 2 place
that is in the inventory screen - it also does it if you press escape - not a bug i dont think

This is not a bug however i dont think the reporter ment it as a feature request - just mis-understanding - the command is /ban <username> (reason)

maybe also only 1.4.2 (forgot to test 1.4.3)

ok - reproduced - dropped item frame however mobGriefing was false so should not have dropped it - this is with 1.4.2

Yes but @tyler and i mean just an offline name without the ability to log into multiplayer servers (wold also work if the lan host would sort them)

Did you test this with bukkit or mods - or vanilla (this also seems like a feature request because you want ability to throw into cauldrons added in for bukkit(bukkit could code a plugin to make this possible))
can't you craft magma cream (this may be work as intended because i think you can craft it)

I had this issue on my own offline server - i had NO torches ANYWHERE! - i had a HUGE and annoying issue - i tested this with sphax+optifine default+optifine sphax+no mods and default+vanilla

DELETE ALL MINECRAFT FILES AND RE-DOWNLOAD LAUNCHER - THIS SEEMS LIKE A PROBLEM WITH YOUR COMPUTER (sorry about caps)
Have you deleted your .minecraft folder if you have deleted it - delete the folder again and re-install the launcher(your launcher may be broken) - are you using the launcher provided bu Mojang?
What are your computer specs (RAM / free memory (storage) / RAM you let minecraft use (other details))
tips to remove lag:
1. No texture pack
2. View bobbing - off
3. Particles - minimal
4. Graphics - fast (i think)

Vanilla server spawn is always close(ish) to a centre point - i think spawn protection protects around the large spawn circle (never spawns in 1 place) to fix spawn - use command block with location permitters setting anyone in spawn points spawn to 1 location with /spawnpoint

Why dont they make them "Blocks" (also - what is an entity - is it like the dropped items and players and mobs?)
i am not very good at JAVA but i think this was because it tried to load item with ID #142 (potatoes)

Was this a public server (do you ever have any players other than you and your friends) and was the <Username> someone you know?
Do you host the server or do you use a hosting company? (i include through a VPS as you - i mean a hosting company like minecraftserverhost.net)
