- Your time on your system is so far off the SSL certificates are seen as invalid; Fix this by putting your time right!
- Your java install is broken. It is missing the root certificates and thus it is not able to validate the authenticity of the SSL certificate.

Sorry it is not the same issue.
I know that 100% as I have found a workaround solution to what is obviously a Mojang issue ......and that has NOTHING to do with any of the so called "solutions" to MCL-346.
To say your Support needs a LOT of improvement Mojang is an understatement!!!!
I suggest starting by actually caring about customers and working on a solution for them instead of saying "there is nothing we can do to help you" - you may have found the solution then instead of your customer

When you represent Mojang and are unwilling to help or allow a bug to be classisfied correctly. There is a dis-service to the customer and company.
Does Mojang or any other customer know how to fix this issue - No.....................and I know other customers have the same isue as I've read the other bug reports that have been incorrectly associated with MCL-346, most likley becuse it is easy to do and doesn't require any work.

This is a bug tracker. Its purpose is to track bugs in a piece of software. The moderators here are volunteers, not actual Mojang employees. They are not obligated to help you. If you need support, you should go somewhere that has people who provide support.
Maintaining this bug tracker is a lot of work. I try to keep up with tickets, and help solve problems, even though I'm just another customer, albeit one that actually knows how to use a bug tracker properly. Most people don't, as clearly evidenced by the huge number of invalid and duplicate tickets on this tracker. It's hard to keep up, and when you see the same things over and over again, it gets a little frustrating that people are unwilling to go to the effort to search for existing tickets, or just too incompetent to find them – admittedly, the existing tickets are often poorly written and might be difficult to find, because they were submitted by equally incompetent users.
Mistakes sometimes get made in the rush to try to keep up with the torrent of garbage, sifting through it all for the valid bug reports. However, this is not one of those times. The error in the log on this issue is the same as the one on MCL-346. What leads you to believe that the issue is different? If you have a workaround, why don't you provide it for the benefit of others, or to help Mojang resolve this issue?
The issue is most likely with your system. Either your Java is broken, or your local Java keystore doesn't contain the necessary certificates to validate the SSL certificate used by the download server. It's possible that there's a problem with the server's certificate, but considering that it's on an Amazon server, and most other people can successfully download it without experiencing this error, it's far more likely that the issue is on your end.
Please attach the complete output of the "Development console" of the launcher. CTRL-A, CTRL-C there, CTRL-V in the ticket.
If the launcher closes after game start, please edit your profile and select at "Launcher visibility" "Hide launcher and reopen" or "Keep the launcher open"

Reinstall it from http://www.java.com/en/download/ . Keep in mind that when using a 32-bit browser on a 64-bit OS the automatic version detection will only show the 32-bit version of Java, the 64-bit version needs to be downloaded manually: http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp .

Hm, it's already written in red on top of MCL-346:
* Your time on your system is so far off the SSL certificates are seen as invalid; Fix this by putting your time right!
* Your java install is broken. It is missing the root certificates and thus it is not able to validate the authenticity of the SSL certificate.
* Kaspersky Antivirus prevents checking of the certificates. Disable it.
If that won't help, please use the Mojang Support Center.
@Ante Blašković : Doesn't your solution fit better to MCL-346 ? At least Kaspersky Antivirus prevents there downloading of the Launcher.
Did you check the other stuff of MCL-346 ?

@Kumasasa It could also be that their system time is off by a lot, thus meaning the computer renders the SSL certificate as invalid, I read that from MCL-346
Possible reason is in the log:
Exception: javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: No trusted certificate found Recognized exception: the likely cause is a set of broken/missing root-certificates. Check your java install and perhaps reinstall it.
If you did that already, the other reason is some antivirus / firewall / parental control software messing around with certificates. See MCL-346

Please install the latest java version or redownload the launcher. Also, you just had to do a single google search and would have found the solution. No need to create a bug report for this.

My Java is up to date and everything for Mac OSX 10.6.8, so pretty much you have made it impossible for me to play minecraft from now on? If there is a fix that you know for my Java or something please help...

I know how to fix it! (If you have ESET antivirus)
Go to the antivirus and click options, then Advanced settings (something like that) I dont know what it actually is because my computer's language is not in English. Then go to HTTP, HTTPS and choose "Don't check HTTPS protocol" and click apply.
(If you have Google Chrome and it can't open some pages - this will fix that issue too

There's nothing inherently wrong with it, but it's old software that is no longer maintained by anyone. What other piece of software is the average Mac user going to use that also requires Java 6? Mojang has huge influence here, and they're leading millions of Mac users to install deprecated software.
