I am reporting the same issue as
MCPE-17278. That bug status is listed as resolved and looking through the recent comments including v1.0.4 beta many other players are also still experiencing the issue. I have a large village that originally had 25+ villagers. All of the villagers except for three despawned (MCPE-8002) a couple of weeks ago and they are not breeding. I have tried dropping bread and beetroots to make them "willing" to breed. I have also tried isolating two of them in ahousefor a few days. They never appeared to go into "love mode" with hearts above their heads. If you are going to delete this bug report as a duplicate, please reopen the original bug (MCPE-17278) as it is not resolved. I've been experiencing this issue in both realms and multiplayer worlds for a few months now. Players step into the nether portal either going to or coming from the nether and take varying amounts of damage. Sometimes players just lose half a heart and sometimes they suffocate. I'm hosting the world on Windows 10 playing Minecraft Bedrock version 1.2.11
To Andrew Bender, Patrick Quinn, Dylan Ernest Thomas , Tim Rohal, Richard Smith, Marcel Dewith, & Sarah, as well as anyone else still experiencing mob despawn issues:
Having read the recent comments, and after having discussed it with the other moderators, it seems clear that the bug that people are experiencing is a separate one from MCPE-8002, and that this bug is caused by going to the Nether and/or using Realms. I'm currently trying to figure out if MCPE-21416 happened on Realms or LAN/XBL multiplayer. I suspect this is either a Realms bug or a multiplayer-in-general bug. MCPE-21416 will probably wind up being the ticket for this remaining mob-despawn bug.
MCPE-21416 is now the ticket for the Realms/Nether issue. If you have any information relating to entities despawning when traveling to the Nether in multiplayer, please report it there.
Sarah, due to the fact that you seem to be the only one so far to report having problems and NOT be using Realms and/or the Nether, and since you mention the entities clustering together near fences, I think your previous suggestion that they might be escaping the fence is probably correct. I suspect you are encountering MCPE-1982. To make sure, perhaps you could try putting all your entities in minecarts to restrict their movement. (Remove any rails underneath the minecarts... the entities might still be able to control the minecart & move it otherwise.) Yeah, it's kind of expensive, but if MCPE-8002 was still a thing, then the entities (including the minecarts) would still despawn. If MCPE-8002 IS fixed like the devs think it is, then the entities shouldn't despawn or be able to escape. I also recommend making the pens out of a non-suffocating block if they aren't already so that if the entities start to escape they won't suffocate in the walls.
erik metzler, you're probably also experiencing MCPE-1982. As for the villager-door-thing, that sounds like a completely separate issue. I'm not sure if it is a bug, though. I think villagers prefer houses that are well-lit, so if that house has the brightest interior, that might be why they are all going into the same place. It migth also be because the other houses are so far away they count as a separate village, so the villagers consider that one house to be the only house in their village. I know there are some various bugs relating to villages & villagers right now. Try searching the bug tracker for all open/reopened tickets relating to "villager" or "village" and see if anything sounds like the problem you are experiencing.

Hello, I am having the same issue in Windows 10 Edition (version 1.0.2). I am using nine maps created with the compass on adjacent 3x3 item frames, but I cannot get the achievement even when rotating each map. The maps are also of my local neighborhood and zoom level 0 (not zoomed out at all). I am continuing to get other achievements. If you would like me to open a new issue I have a screenshot I can attach.
I'm having the same issue on Windows 10 Edition version 1.0.2. Passive mobs including horses, cows, sheep, pigs, chickens and rabbits have been disappearing from my fenced pens. The pens are dug one block under ground level with a one block high fence (some are two blocks high). The pens also include a 2x2x1 pond of water. The animals tend to gather in one far corner with two or more occupying one block. The animals are either escaping, dying by suffocating in the dirt or fence, or despawning. This has happened multiple times with multiple animals in multiple fenced pens over and over again. I will go underground to mine and when I come back up all my horses or rabbits will be gone and the pen will be empty. Extremely frustrating especially for rarer animals I have to travel far to find. Also noticing villages once populated are now empty.
Mojang, please fix this issue. Or at least allow us to switch back and forth between survival and creative to repopulate farms/villages in Windows 10 without the penalty of permanently disabling achievements. I agree with previous comments that this one issue alone makes the game practically unplayable as it randomly undoes all the work I put into my favorite part of the game.
Thank you for responding and commenting on the original bug report as well. I am playing on Windows 10, which as far as I know is not eligible for beta testing. I am looking forward to the 1.0.4 update going live and repopulating my village. And trading!
This issue is still affecting Windows 10 Edition 1.0.2 and 1.0.3.
What I expected to happen was:
After placing iron blocks and a pumpkin head to spawn an iron golem, I should have gotten the Body Guard achievement.
What actually happened was:
I created an iron golem in survival mode in 1.0.2. I was never given credit for the Body Guard achievement even after the game updated to 1.0.3. The iron golem continues to patrol inside my fence. My game has never been in creative mode and I am continuing to get other achievements. If you would like me to open a new bug report, I have a screenshot I can attach.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Create iron golem.
2. Note that the achievement is not awarded. How can I get credit for this achievement in MCPE 1.0.3?
Thanks for the info. Beta testing is apparently not available on the Windows 10 version so I can still only play 1.0.3 at this point. Do you know when the 1.0.4 update will be released? Do you know if I will retroactively get credit for the achievement or will I need to create another iron golem?
I am experiencing this bug in Windows 10 version 1.0.3. I notice animals outside of their fenced pen. I know they must be mine because some of them are dyed sheep or mobs that don't spawn in my biome.
I have experienced this in Windows 10 edition 1.0.2 and 1.0.3 in peaceful survival game. Villages that I previously visited are suddenly empty (possibly due to
MCPE-8002). But also new villages I discover while exploring maps seem to generate with no villagers at all. Very eerie to have all of these vacant ghost villages. Hopefully when the issue finally gets fixed, all of these empty villages will spawn new villagers as it would be incredibly tedious to have to ship at least two villagers to every single village myself.I am also hearing thunder deep underground in Windows 10 version 1.0.3. I am mining at level 11 (one level above all the lava lakes) and I am periodically hearing thunder. The blocks above me are stone (not air) as I am not under a ravine or huge cave system. I don't think I should be hearing thunder when there are 50+ blocks of stone between me and ground level.

It doesn't make sense for me to be hearing thunder when there are 50+ blocks of stone between me and ground level.
I updated to 1.0.4, made two more iron golems and still don't have the achievement. I am getting other achievements.
I am still having trouble with this in Windows 10 version 1.0.4. I have two villagers and 20 doors. Both villagers were converted from zombies spawned after the 1.0.4 update. I traded with both villagers and I gave both of them 12 beets. Either trading or giving food should make them willing to breed. And there should be room for five more villagers with the current number of doors. I have observed the villagers for a week of game time and they never appeared to go into love mode.
I am playing in a realm on Windows 10 version 1.0.4 and only one out of 5-10 casts am catching anything including fish, junk or treasure. The last time I fished was in version 1.0.2 and before I caught a fish the bobber would go down significantly farther when a fish bites and make a noise. It was much more obvious when to click to reel in the fish. Now, it seems like you have to catch the exact millisecond a fish bites or you don't get anything. It was much easier to fish before and I'm pretty sure it's not supposed to be this hard to actually catch anything now. It's very frustrating to stand at a lake for 30 minutes (with Lure III) and only successfully reel in five items. Mojang, please fix this issue or restore fishing to its previous state in 1.0.2. Thank you.
This bug is still happening for me on Windows 10 version 1.0.7. I have lost horses (and other animals) inside pens multiple times. I have led them with wheat/carrots, tamed them, placed saddles on them and definitely "interacted" with them in many ways. I have tried naming them, attaching them with a lead to the inside of a closed fence two blocks high and I still lose them. As I mentioned in a previous comment a couple months ago, the animals tend to gather in one corner with two or more occupying the same space. The animals are either escaping, dying by suffocating in the dirt or fence, or despawning. This happens on new peaceful single player worlds with animals that have spawned since 1.0.5. This most recent time, I had six horses in a 9x9 fence and when I logged back on, all but two of them were gone. There was no lightning storm that could have killed them. Continuing to lose fast/special animals that take a long time to find is very frustrating. Please reopen this issue as it is clear from all the comments that it has not been successfully resolved for everyone.
As I said in my comment, this is happening on new peaceful single player worlds. Eagerly anticipating this bug fix, I started a new survival world when 1.0.5 came out. Also, it has nothing to do with the nether as I have not been there yet in my new game. I am focusing on my farms and building my house first. If my animals will stop vanishing, then I will progress further in the game and go to the nether, but for now I'm going to hold off on it. The bug seems the same as prior to 1.0.5 as I said in my comment with the animals gathering in one specific corner of the pen and multiple animals in the same space. Again, I'm not on a realm/multiplayer and I have not been to the nether. Please consider reopening this ticket as it seems the same exact issue has not been resolved for everyone.
This bug occurs in new Creative and Survival worlds created after the 1.0.8 update both local, single player games and multiplayer realms. Attempting to dye the sheep back to the color of wool they drop is unsuccessful.
I'm playing on Windows 10 Edition version 1.0.8 single player survival world that was created after version 1.0.5 when
MCPE-8002was supposedly fixed. I thought the issue I'm experiencing wasMCPE-8002but a moderator directed me here to this bug. Passive mobs including horses, cows, sheep, pigs, chickens and rabbits have been disappearing from my fenced pens. I have led them with wheat/carrots, tamed them, placed saddles on them and definitely "interacted" with them in many ways. I have tried naming them, attaching them with a lead to the inside of a closed fence two blocks high and I still lose them. Continuing to lose fast/special animals that take a long time to find is very frustrating.I'm playing Windows 10 Edition version 1.0.8 survival game and having the same issue with maps both with a compass and without a compass. It seems particularly slow crossing the ocean in a boat. One of my favorite parts of the game is exploration and I like to make fully zoomed out (level 4) maps so I can see where the different biomes are and this issue makes it very slow and tedious to do so.
I recently joined a realm and purposefully built 2000+ blocks away from spawn (and nether portal). I have had many animals repeatedly despawning or somehow missing from their pens including far away or hard to find animals like fast horses, donkeys and rabbits. I have interacted with them by either riding or leading them with carrot to get them to the penned area. There are individual animal pens for each kind of animal and also a large fence around the perimeter of my area so they would have to escape through both fences or I would see them in between. It is possible they are somehow suffocating in the fence and dying so I also commented on MCPE 1982. This bug does not seem to have to do with the nether for me as I cross an ocean in a boat to get to spawn and the nether. Also, my house is far away from any other players and I do not have visitors so it doesn't seem to have to do with the multiplayer aspect either. I thought the bug I have been experiencing is MCPE 8002, but since it was listed as resolved and this specific game I am playing is on a realm I'm also commenting here. I am playing on Windows 10 Edition version 1.0.8. Again, the animals I am losing are 2000+ blocks from spawn, nether hub and other players do not come here.
My sheep are also still white. Moderators, do you know if our colored sheep that turned white will revert to their true color of the wool they are dropping when the bug is fixed, or should we kill them and start over dying new sheep once the bug is fixed? I also have not seen any sheep in the wild that are not white so it seems like the bug is not actually resolved yet. If this bug report was listed as resolved because it is a duplicate, will you please direct us to the appropriate bug report? All of the bugs listed in the duplicate section appear to be resolved.
When I logged on after updating to version 1.0.8, all of my dyed sheep and natural sheep that were black, brown and grey turned white. I reported this bug as MCPE 21748 but it was closed as a duplicate even though the bug itself does not seem to be resolved. When I sheer the sheep, they are dropping their original color wool for both the dyed colors and the natural non-white colors. This bug occurs in creative and survival worlds since the 1.0.8 update both local, single player games and multiplayer realms. Attempting to dye the sheep back to the color of wool they drop is unsuccessful. It would be preferable for sheep to visibly remain the color of wool they are dropping so we know which sheep to sheer. Moderators, do you know if our colored sheep that turned white will revert to their true color of the wool they are dropping when the bug is fixed, or should we kill them and start over dying new sheep once the bug is fixed?

I just installed the 1.1 update for Windows 10 version. New rabbits that I just bred after the update are still getting stuck in fence posts. These are black and brown rabbits I just collected from a flower forest biome. Instead of just getting stuck on one corner like before, now it seems that the rabbits are getting stuck in all four corners of the fence. The rabbits also seem to have a weird new owl-like 360 degree head rotation when stuck as shown in the attached screenshots. Their bodies are stuck facing the corner of the fence, but their heads turn 180 degrees to face the player holding a carrot.
Edit: this is also happening with other animals like chickens. New animals bred after the update are getting stuck in all four corners instead of just one corner like prior to the update.
Confirmed: after installing the 1.1 update on Windows 10, my sheep are again displaying as the appropriate color.
I'm also experiencing this issue after updating to 1.1 on Windows 10 version both on realms and on local multiplayer games. It seems to be associated with going through the nether and players joining the game. Nether portals cause the game to crash for the player using them and extreme lag for other players. Hopefully mojang can fix this issue in the next update.
This has been happening a lot on our realm lately. Much more so since the 1.1 update started causing extreme lag and frequent realm crashes. Players that were clearing rooms underground suffocate in walls due to the blocks being where they should have already been cleared, animals disappear from pens, ghasts spawn in areas they should not be able to, players lose items from their inventory and chests. Usually the realm only "rolls" back by 10-15 minutes or less but sometimes it's been closer to an hour.
Our realm is experiencing very frequent crashes since the 1.1 update as well as extreme lag. Often the realm will start to lag, chunks will fail to load, it may or may not be related to people going through other dimensions like nether/end or someone trying to join the game. The realm will crash, all players will be ejected and try to rejoin the realm. The realm will immediately crash again and get caught in a kind of loop where it is crashing back to back 3-5 times in a row within a 10 minute period causing the players to eventually give up and stop trying to rejoin the realm. Eventually after no one trying to connect to the realm for at least 10 minutes, the realm seems to catch up with itself and players can again connect but the realm continues to lag. This has happened several times over the last couple of days and did not happen at all prior to the 1.1 update.
Our realm has been experiencing a lot of issues loading chunks since the 1.1 update in addition to extreme lag and frequent crashes. When the 1.1 update came out, we explored 10,000 blocks from spawn in order to find one of the new woodland mansions. Often when joining the game, a player has to stand still and wait 5-10 minutes for the chunks around them to load before moving. This happens in frequently traveled chunks like the spawn area as well as individual player bases and in the nether. Using maps seems to exacerbate this issue on single player games as well as multiplayer.
I and other players on my realm have also been experiencing this bug since the 1.1 update. Even trying to mount with an empty hand or something like a saddle or carrot that should take several hits to kill a horse sometimes causes instant death. The risk of killing animals simply by trying to mount them makes horses, donkeys and mules practically unusable which makes travel very slow if we are limited to our sprinting speed.
Our realm has been experiencing extreme lag and frequent realm crashes since the 1.1 update. It seems to be worse when players are going through a nether or end portal, in another dimension or trying to connect to the game. Chunks do not load, pressure plates and buttons fail to work, chests cannot be opened, dropped items cannot be picked up from the ground, the entire realm grinds to a halt often resulting in a realm crash. Reducing render distance and other graphic settings don't make any difference. After the 1.1 update, we did travel 10,000 blocks from spawn to find one of the new woodland mansions. We have also traveled great distances in the end in search of end cities. It seems like that should not cause serious issues as these generated structures are intended to be rare and require distant travel to reach.
Since the 1.1 update, our realm has been experiencing extreme lag and frequent realm crashes. It seems as though the lag is causing chunks to load more slowly than the entities attempting to spawn in them. Our nether hub was created so that ghasts should not be able to spawn in it and our tunnels are not large enough for ghasts to fit in them. Prior to the 1.1 update, there were never ghasts in our nether hub but many times since then a ghast has been able to spawn. We think the ghasts are spawning before the chunks load. Also, many of our animals are somehow missing from pens and we think they might be spawning before the fences and somehow either suffocating in the dirt or in the fences. Players going through another dimension or attempting to join the game seems to cause massive lag which causes the chunks to stop loading and often the realm to crash. It is often after these crashes that we find animals missing and entities like ghasts where they should not be.

Since the 1.1 update, our realm has also been experiencing extreme lag as well as frequent crashes. Players traveling through the nether and also who are trying to connect to the game significantly increase the lag for all of the players currently on the realm.
Confirmed on Windows 10 edition.

I am also experiencing this issue in multiple realms playing on Windows 10. Rabbits are not interested in carrots or dandelions. It is extremely difficult to hit fast moving rabbits with a lead and get it back to a pen to breed. When trying to breed, it is difficult to hit the rabbits with a carrot. Especially frustrating for those looking for rabbit's feet for brewing.
I am also getting "Unable to locate any mansion feature" when I use /locate mansion on a default world in Java 1.8 version. I did use a specific seed, but didn't change the biome size or any other settings.
I've been experiencing this issue in both realms and multiplayer worlds for a few months now. Players step into the nether portal either going to or coming from the nether and take varying amounts of damage. Sometimes players just lose half a heart and sometimes they suffocate. Shepherd villagers are still selling all 16 colors of wool for 1-2 emeralds each. The bug I am reporting is that now they are only offering to buy 16-20 black wool in exchange for one emerald. Before the 1.2.13 update and since villager trading has been added to the bedrock edition in 1.0.4, shepherd villagers only ever offered to buy white wool. Since white sheep still seem to spawn far more commonly than black sheep, I am guessing that this is a bug.
Edit: When I place white wool in the slot marked black wool, the shepherd does in fact accept the white wool in exchange for an emerald. See screenshot. The color of the icon seems to be the only thing that changed.
One of the shepherds was spawned after the 1.2.13 update, but others have existed for at least three months. Like I said, every shepherd I've encountered since the update (on multiple worlds) is displaying the black icon now. I honestly never tried to sell shepherds any color of wool other than the white icon displayed in the trade UI prior to the 1.2.13 update. So I had no idea they would accept other colors. All I knew is exactly what I said, they only ever offered to buy white. I didn't realize they would in fact accept other colors of wool in exchange for emeralds.
I have noticed this as well since the 1.2.13 update playing on Windows 10. It is happening for passive mobs including villagers, horses and cows. I am seeing this almost every time I approach passive mobs. I don't know if this is related to the same bug, but I am also getting dismounted from horses very frequently for no apparent reason since the 1.2.13 update.
I can confirm this bug is also happening for me since the 1.2.13 update playing on Windows 10.
This only started happening for me since the 1.2.13 update. It is happening much closer than 70 blocks. The mobs don't appear for the first time until I'm within a couple blocks. I'll go to a place I know I have mobs in a pen and until I'm almost on top of them, it will look as though they've all despawned. I'm also experiencing this with hostile mobs (see
MCPE-32231), again only since the 1.2.13 update. My render distance is set to 12 chunks.I can confirm this has been happening since the 1.2.13 update playing on Windows 10.
