More than a few dozen times. I would estimate that a good 50% of it is water. There's a dense strip down 1 edge of the map, and another strip down the opposite side (so a massive river running down the middle). It's a very flat map, i've explored every inch of dirt, and even ran through all parts of the water.
FYI, I created it with the seed name "palace" which was a map I saw listed on "Minecraft Seeds Pro" iOS app in the "creations" list. I got the same map, but without Palace he made.
Confirmed that it also happens with me on my iPad2&3, survival mode. It's not really paused, even when there's no other players connected to you.
Animals in water surely are annoying. Need to make them smarter than that. They should be attracted to grassy areas, and possibly wheat plantations.
I just started a new survival level with seed name = "palace" on an iPad2 (friendly mode on). I immediately killed 4 sheep, 3 cows, 6 pigs, 3 chickens. I then swam to the other side of the map and killed 2 more sheep. That's all the animals. I've walked around the entire map 3 more times in 30 mins, and so far have not encountered another animal. Do you know the rules and timings for animal respawn? I really hope this can be fixed, I put so many hours into this map.
I've only played on iOS. Regardless, I don't believe you should lose a bone meal when it is not effective on the target. At the least, the bone meal should be dropped when ineffective on the target.
As a test (to make sure it wasn't iOS6 related), I created another survival map (friendly) with seed name 1234567890. I killed all the animals on the map. Within 20 mins of walking around, a new batch of animals started spawning. So it's clear to me that there is something weird on seed "palace" which prevents animals from respawning. I hope you're able to find the problem, so I can resume playing "palace" map when the next update is released
This problem is extremely easy to replicate. Just walk up to a cactus and drop an item at it. The item will hit the cactus and vanish forever!
I can understand that happening with Lava (it's happened to me once), but Cactus is not a liquid, and it doesn't make sense for it to do damage to an inanimate object. Chopping a cactus and losing the chopped portion which lands inside the cactus just defeats the whole purpose, and to lose ALL your items if you happen to die is just plain cruel.
I got around this problem by putting the ladder 3 blocks above ground level. Players can jump up onto it, but too high for animals.
What are you rules for animal respawn? If you kill a cow, should it spawn another cow? Or does it spawn a random animal? The map i've been playing for the past 20hrs (seed: rainbow connection) started with a lot of cows. I killed all the cows/pigs for food, and currently have 13 sheep and 7 chickens. No cows/pigs. Is that normal?
I never said Cactus shouldn't hurt humans/monsters/animals, that should be the case. I said they shouldn't damage dropped items/cactus.
The reason why I don't completely chop the entire cactus is because I want it to continue growing another 2 pieces.
I personally haven't seen this, unless I previously deleted a block above it. Does the grass eventually grow back on those dirt patches? As far as I know, grass does not grow when you're not within a certain proximity of it.
I don't see why an object can't exist in creative mode just for visual appeal. It doesn't have to be functional (however we know people will request functionality if the item existed).
This is my secure sheep pen. I dug a 1x1 tunnel down 3 blocks, then led the tunnel outside the pen. I watched and witnessed sheep falling into the 1x1 hole in the ground and escaping the sheep pen. How is that possible when Sheep are 1.25 blocks tall, 0.625 blocks wide and 1.4375 blocks long?
Well they do grow grass, but as far as I know the grass will only grow when you're within certain proximity to it. FYI, sheep will keep eating grass, even when they are ready to be sheered. I have a sheep pen with 13 sheep in it (maybe about 7x14 in size, they always have fleece and some patches of grass because it's near my home where I spend most of my time. My small remote pen of 3 sheep rarely had grass or fleece, so I moved them closer.
You're supposed to raise 1 incident per report. As for the chest issue you described, I had a similar problem with the furnace last night. I was cooking food in the furnace when my son disconnected (he was the server). When I accessed the furnace again, it was all empty, however the furnace showed a fire still burning. I guess this issue is probably linked to chests too. I just tested it, it only happens when the person hosting the server quits. All the chests are empty for the remaining players (regardless of who put the items in the chest). Note that the hosted servers map is still ok.
I don't think it's been implemented yet, it's only version 0.4.0. FYI, it doesn't work on iOS either, i've tried it. As far as I know, Flint&steel will only light TNT as of now.
Yeah, I had 2 chickens in the ocean which I spent 30 mins trying to get into a pen just outside the water. As soon as I get them to land, they just jump back in the water and swim back to the same place! (so I just killed those 2 suckers, so annoying). Argh, chickens are the hardest animal to round up. Need to lure them with wheat!
I moved all my mine tunnel torches from the wall to the floor, and put them every 12 blocks. Monsters don't spawn down there anymore. Still wondering why it didn't work 14 blocks apart (maybe because I had them on the wall at face height?). It was extremely tedious and time consuming to count and move them all (over 12 full length tunnels), so won't be experimenting further.
Yep I think this is confirmed. I was putting a torch every 14 blocks, which gave a light level of 8 in the middle. Since I put them at face height, the light level was 7 in the middle on the ground block. This would mean that monsters only care about the 1x1 block area where there stand/spawn on, and not the block above where their face is.
You spawn next to the last place you slept. I have beds under shelter, and I always spawn next to it. The room is not completely fenced off though, there is sky visible through a wall or ceiling 5-10 blocks away from the bed. Edit: Actually I believe I have spawned way above my bed at times, about 50 blocks higher than my bed, even above the tree.
This is the same as
MCPE-51. I'll comment there. My house is embedded in a very tall mountain. It has 3 floors directly on top of each other (inside the mountain), room heights=3 blocks tall.
Bottom floor: bed in corner, and chest right next to pillow.
Middle floor: bed in corner, and chest right next to pillow.
Top floor: totally empty in that corner, but I do have a bed about 12 blocks away.
If i'm on the bottom floor, and click on the bed to sleep, then later die, I somehow respawn on the top floor, 2 floors above my bed (note that there is no sky on the top floor, it's still inside the mountain).
I moved the bottom floor bed 1 block further down the wall (still touching 1 wall) so it wasn't next to the chest. The problem still happens.
I moved the bed 1 block away from the wall (not touching any walls), and this time it respawned on the middle floor!
Sheep only grow wool after they eat grass. I agree that animals in water are a pain. Most of the time they make no effort to go back to land (even when you try to push them to land).
I get the same problem as the picture at the start of certain seeds. After placing a torch in the area, it removes the problem.
As what John Doe says, I have the same problem. Removing the torch and placing it again will correct the lighting.
Happens to me too. It happens when you place 2 blocks which only touch on the edge and not connected by a solid side. The light passes through the connecting edge, diagonally from 1 empty area to another.
Yes, this happened to me too. After placing blocks in the affected area, and removing them again, the problem stopped happening. There is a tree next to the lava at the water, this is where I noticed it (seed: nyan)
The problem I had was to do with multiple types of wood (and multiple piles of the same item). If your inventory order was: light wood, then dark wood, and you tried to put dark wood into the furnace, it decremented the first pile of wood that is listed in your inventory, which is the light wood. I have never noticed it not decremented on iPad as described in the report description.
This is very easily to simulate. Do the same pattern as above. Quit the game and load the map again. You'll see the problem displayed in the picture. removing the torch and placing it back again will correct the lighting. Seems to have something to do with connected chunks?
Another classic example in a 2x1 tunnel (bedrock level). Light from the torch stops at the chunk
. It can be corrected by removing/placing the torch again, but the problem will appear again next time you connect to the game.
Already reported in
MCPE-321To fix this, the chunks would need to be connected BEFORE the torch light rendering is done.
light gets inside the fully enclosed area behind the stairs. It gets in from the top edge of the stairs that connect to the bottom edge of the dirt block.
The inside, which has 0 torches. The light comes in from the top edge of the stairs. If you replace the stairs with a dirt block, the inside is pitch black (as it should be).
Screenshots are taken on iOS (new iPad), not limited to Android.
Just loaded the game. My previous location was on the ground at the fence, however I respawned about 2-3 further back, and a lot higher (not possible to spawn 2-3 squares back where I was standing, it was solid wall).
Seed: "rainbow connection". I was previously able to freely walk around this lava fall. After moving/placing some dirt and a fence around it, I was still able to freely walk around it. After some time, some parts of the area burnt me. Placing a block on the fence where I get burnt, and then deleting the block, temporarily prevents me from getting burnt in that area. The area is not always the same when it starts to happen. The problem starts happening again after the next game cycle (tick). FYI, it is not only related to fences, problem sometimes happens with no fence there.
Are both devices an iPod touch? Do you notice any lag during game play or just before you disconnect? What happens when the other device hosts the game? One thing you can try is to close all the background applications. Double-tap the home button, hold your finger down on an app in the taskbar, then tap the minus in the corner of each icon to close them. This will free up a lot of memory.
The only times i've had disconnections (and we do 3 player here) is when one person quits to the menu to turn friendly mode on/off, or if we are too far away from our crap wifi (10 meters through concrete walls), or MCPE is sitting in the background.
Well i've confirmed that this problem isn't limited to the start of a seed. I just had the problem happen to me after I deleted dirt, then reload the game. I had a "0 light" block where the dirt used to be, and it was daytime.
What seed is this? What do you mean by random? Random parts of the map? Does it happen all the time? Does it happen on other seeds? Is your device low on memory?
I have not noticed this before, however it's apparently common, already been reported in
MCPE-204Issue had already been submitted,
MCPE-131What is the name of the seed you are using?
From the way he's worded it, it sounds as if it freezes/crashes after he clicks "start game", which is before he gets the chance to "create new" or "select world".

MCPE-184The TNT in the middle falls when you light it
I just added the photo to help explain it. Judging from what you're saying, I would believe this may be intended behavior. The fact that the blocks remain in the air already go against all laws of physics lol. So I guess the TNT falls because it becomes an entity, and is in no way attached to the blocks surrounding it.
If you leave the seed name blank, the name you assign the game will be the seed name.
FYI, I just hosted a 0.3.0 map on iPad, and the host/server could see what each person was building. This may be a seed related problem. Does the server see the hosts walking around them?
I created a seed "Mithos Territory" and hosted it. Both server/clients can see each other, and can see whatever is being built. Mind you, it was created on 0.4.0. I'm not sure if 0.3.0 has something to do with it. Hopefully one of the devs will have more insight into this problem.
Is the problem consistent? Is it only happening on this seed? Do other seeds work ok? How about other 0.3.0 and 0.4.0 maps? Just trying to see if there is any pattern.
Are you able to test on another wifi network to rule out that it's your wifi network causing the problem? I've never had wifi issues unless one of the devices are too far away from the router. I've even tried using my iPhone as the router (personal hotspot), and having 2 iPads connected to it via wifi, and that's stable too (won't work via bluetooth hotspot, FYI).
Same as request
MCPE-4which has been fixedHave you tried a 3rd device? 3rd device and iPad3 (to rule out if iPad2 wifi is problematic), and 3rd device with iPad2 (to rule out if iPad3 wifi is problematic). I play all the time with iPad2 + ipad3 (no SIM), I can't see how this combination can cause disconnects. My wife has iPad3 with a 3G SIM installed, for some reason her connection toggles between 3G and wifi when we play Minecraft, which causes the game to disconnect on us, so I turn off "Cellular Data" so the connection will remain on wifi. This fixes it.
95% of the time I don't get any cart sound when I get in. When pausing the game during a ride, then unpausing, I get the sound. However the sound doesn't stop when I get out. Windows 7 64bit, Java 64bit v1.7.0_07. Single player. The cart is underground, Y=46, travels to Y=5 and then 1km around that level.

MCPE-193I can't see why we can't have Flint and Steel in creative, you can still explode so many TNT in survival, what's the diff? Maybe you can just set a limit as to how many can explode at once.
This happens when you're around lava (fixed bug), or when a nearby player is trying to access a chest etc (another fixed bug)
Same as fixed bug
MCPE-272. Try again in about a week to verify.Hopefully this will be fixed soon for the next update?
Try closing all your apps and launch Minecraft again. I'm having issues when having other apps in the background too.

Yep, I noticed that too
I noticed that too (red background), but only on the sugar cane I obtained from the Nether Reactor in 0.5.0. When I chop some fresh sugar cane, the icon is normal.
I just tested this. It doesn't always happen, but happened to me when I opened the 3rd chest in the multiplayer server I was connected to.
Happened to me too. I closed all the apps (including Minecraft) and started it again, worked fine after that - until the client opened a server chest! (another bug).
Please open 1 ticket per problem, but don't raise for these as they have ALL been raised already.
Correct, you must hold your finger down longer in order to dye it
