This is the bugtracker for the Minecraft Launcher, not for the actual game. Also, this is a duplicate of MC-102511 and has already been fixed in 16w21b.

Can confirm.
Confirmed for 16w21a.
Doesn't affect earlier versions (16w20a, 1.9.4, 1.9.3, 1.9.2 etc...)
confirmed on mine as well for 16w21, windows 10 latest release of java 64 bit
Confirmed
Uploaded two images showing a comparison between 16w20 and 16w21
How do we know it is not intended?
Anomonous Anomonous,
I assume it has something to do with the texture file not being read correctly (duh) or the render, anyway would be cool if there was a way to keep it in the nether like that but turn the lava back to normal everywhere else. makes the nether look more scary.
even reopen cant fix
