Now we have a duplicate, as this bug was originally created for dolphins (now changed to drowned) and there is another bug specifically for drowned (
MC-129940) But this one was created first
I don't get it. Why does this work as intended. Drowneds are water mobs/aquatic mobs so they should theoretically get more damage.

It should only affect creatures that spawn underwater naturally, apart from drowned mobs (see MC-128249), but currently on Bedrock it affects any creature that is in water or rain.
A quick test returned the following results. The amount of hits needed using a Trident with Impaling 5:
| Java | Bedrock | |
| Cow - Land | 2 | 2 |
| Cow - Water | 2 | 1 |
| Elder Guardian - Land | 5 | 9 |
| Elder Guardian - Water | 5 | 4 |
Drowned are classified as Undead, not Underwater, see MC-128249.

Impaling also doesn't help against Drowned, in either ranged or melee attacks. Tested with levels 4 and 5 in 18w19b (works fine against Guardians).
Presumably the same problem, didn't want to duplicate, but perhaps title and labels should be revised.
Dolphins now get affected by Impaling but this Bug was never marked as "Fixed"!
Drowned are not affected by Impaling in 18w20c.
I think this is marked wrong because the Fix Version is set to: Future version 1.13+
Whoops, marked the fix version incorrectly, thanks!
It works as intended because Drowned, while happy underwater, are classified as undead mobs rather than water mobs and therefore aren't affected by the impaling enchantment.
Can't You Make be classified both as undead and water mob?
