MC-152168Farmer villager can pick up items, even if his inventory is full
a farmer villager tries to pick up a crop, even if his inventory is full and objects remain invisible on the ground.
If you give him 64 wheat, he will make bread and this bread and the rest of the wheat will fall out of it.
how to reproduce
spawn villager ---> fill his inventory with seeds ---> give him wheat and seeds ---> he will give you bread and wheat, the seeds will become invisible

MC-152088I suppose since this one was created a few hours later, but feel free to closeMC-152088instead if this one is preferred.This is still an issue as you can see above. Farmer is still taking all the wheat despite having a full inventory. MC Version is Java 1.14.2 vanilla.
This issue changed starting from 1.14.3 pre-release 1. Villagers can still infinitively pick up items, but they can only pick up 4 stacks of any type (
MC-154427).On my end I had a similar issue to the one in Johnibur's comment above.
1.14.3 release: I tried to throw a bunch of items (seeds) at the villager, the villager picks up 4 stacks of items and then stops picking up more. However, after a little while, the floating seeds disappears (I'm sure it's not due to despawn because there are more seeds on the floor). I'm not sure if they are picked up by the villager or just become invisible as some other reports suggest. But it seems that only when the play is absent from the villager's sight the villager will perform this magic...
