Short grass is unaffected by mipmap levels
Starting from Minecraft 1.8, short grass is no longer affected by Mipmapping. From searching, there is no source in the changelogs stating this was an intentional change.
Steps to Reproduce:
- Create a single biome world, all plains (Not necessarily required, but is the easiest biome)
- Enable mipmapping
→ Observe results - Now, disable mipmapping
→ Observe results
Observed Behavior:
When the short grass viewed from a distance, it will appear very grainy, and unpleasant when compared to other surrounding blocks.
Expected Behavior:
The short grass would properly be affected by mipmapping, like other blocks.

Grass (Plant) unaffected by Mipmap
Starting from Minecraft 1.8, Grass is no longer affected by Mipmapping, which makes Grass from a Distance very grainy and unpleasant to the Eyes when moving the Camera.
Back in 1.7.10, Grass was affected by Mipmap and lost a lot of Detail in the Distance, which made them a lot smoother and more gentle to the Eye.
I dont see this in the Changelogs for 1.8 and neither do i see a Reason why this would be intentional, so im assuming this is a Bug.

Notes:
No that's intentional. Glass, redstone wire, chains and tripwire intentionally have mipmapping disabled because otherwise they melt into nothing. So the bug is that glass panes incorrectly do have mipmapping.
Unless Mojang adds anisotropic filtering these blocks cannot have mipmapping.

Now what is an issue is basically every other cutout block has mips disabled for no reason and mojang isn't keen on fixing it MC-195505 MC-277120 etc.

Please provide a screenshot of this occurring with the F3 debug screen enabled, make sure you are using 1.16.1 or 20w29a.
1.16.1 Grass (Grainy and very runny in the Distance, no matter which Mipmap Level, the Mipmap Level is on 4 in the Screenshot)
1.7.10 Grass (Loses a lot of Detail and Transparancy in the Distance with Mipmap enabled, making it smooth)
Is this bug intentional or not?
Affects 1.20.4 and 23w51b.
Here is a clear view of the difference between mipmap off, and level 4:
Notice how the grass changes, and the short grass does not.
Worth noting: it is now called 'short_grass'.
