No backup prompt when opening old worlds
As in the title, the "create backup" message when opening old (in my case 1.16.5.) world in the newest version is gone, world just loads. That backup prompt existed in in stable versions before, added screenshot from version 1.16.5. as a proof.
Steps to recreate:
1. Create a world in older version
2. Try opening the world in 1.17.
3. World load without usual backup prompt
EDIT: deleted the part about "!" mark, it was never supposed to be on updating from stable version to never stable version, added a screenshot as a proof of backup prompt existence, and reworded the bug report to make it clearer what is the issue

@DelimanCZ, MC-227787 is about there being no exclamation mark, so it is not really blocking this report, instead they are partially about the same topic (the exclamation mark being missing).
We could speculate that MC-228166 is blocking this issue here (assuming it is the same code path), but I think that is too vague. I have marked them as related now though.

Can confirm. This didn't happen in 1.16.5.
MC-227787seems like the same issue and has been marked as working as intended. For that reason I've resolved this as a duplicateQuick Links:

Not quite the same issue IMO.
MC-227787is about the exclamation missing, which is intentional because that's only supposed to happen in snapshots/pre-releases/RCs.The issue here (in my opinion) is that loading a 1.14.4 world (for example) in 1.16.5 shows the backup screen, but loading the same world in 1.17 does not.
Got confirmation from the developers that this was indeed an intended change for the same reasons as
MC-227787.
