Version 1.4.2

duplicate of MC-27
Not a duplicate, MC-27 is marked as Fixed for Minecraft 1.4.2, this bug report is for Minecraft 1.4.2, meaning it has not been fixed.
Agreed, however if the issue persists, then MC-27 should be repopened and tagged with affects 1.4.2, so the developers can keep a running tally of the issue.
Died while multiple Ghasts were shooting me. I'm assuming that the Nether closed up at the point and everything stood still, therefore leaving the shots in the air. I have terribly put a picture together of three instances of such. I know that MC-27 refers to this issue, however i wanted to provide proof and didn't know how to add it. Also, bear with me, as this is my first post!
EDIT: forgot to mention that I posted this because this glitch is still here despite it being said to be fixed in 1.4.4
MC-5566 mentions some ghast bombs were there as user entered the nether while in peacefull.
I was walking in the Nether and taking screenshot of the light bugs (MC-3329) when I saw that was something strange with the fire. Then I understood that wasn't netherrack burning, but Ghast fireballs still in the air.
The problem is: there were no Ghasts to shoot them, because I turned the difficult to peaceful >before entering in the portal<. This makes this issue different from MC-27.

This works in the pre-release.
This glitch has been around for quite a while now. I know it happens in 1.3.x, i've seen videos about it.
It will also happen if a chunk unloads with a fireball moving in it.
I've found this on many multiplayer servers and in my singleplayer world when I went exploring in the nether
This bug is present in Release 1.4.2
Please reopen, the bug still exists.
See here:
MC-2342Still affects 1.4.2 according to ticket linked in comment above.
I have also experienced this, presumably upon coming into an unloaded chunk (it was not me who 'spawned' the fireball in the first place.
I think it should be noted that the fireball was not stationary, but moving slow, although a lot slower than it should have been.
