Please make sure you are not using a VPN or other program that changes your online identity. Also, from what country are you trying to connect?

Hello I am not using any VPN. I am in North America.
I am having the same problem. I'm not on a VPN, and my internet connection is perfectly fine.
Same here !
the game post a message during the loading time (at the very begining just after the "click anywhere") the msg say "unable to connect to the network" so I look the log into the programs(x86)
folder and here i saw 2 things :
- [0526/224447.740:WARNING:dns_config_service_win.cc(669)] Failed to read DnsConfig.
- [0526/224558.198:ERROR:gpu_channel_manager.cc(188)] Exiting GPU process because some drivers cannot recover from problems.
if someone want the full log here's a pastebin link: https://pastebin.com/kfnQ5YKf
I don't use any vpn.
I try uninstal / reinstal the app.
I try to switch from the MS store version to the launcher version.
In Creepy Crypt it shows that there is 17 chests even though there is only 16 and 4 secrets even though there is only 3.
The problem seems to be caused by the firewall. The game starts working when I disable it, even though I don't have any blocking rules.
I only have windows defender but I try to disable it and I still have the same issue
thanks for your help .
I run a dx Diag and I post the error here :
https://pastebin.com/CDjr3BAM
I also have this problem. I have no been able to connect to the game because of network issues. I don't use any vpn or other program.
so i read the dx Diag and it seem to be a driver issue
MAYBE !
I've had this exact issue, and solved it like this: I have Comodo antivirus, which kept MCD running in a sandbox. Once I've approved the game, I could play it without issue.
I had Bitdefender but I desinstal it maybe some part of it remains on my pc ?
i don't desinstal it properly :
if you had an anti virus or a vpn do a recherch on your pc I was thinkinf I had desinstal it corctly but :
I had Bitdefender. I've Uninstalled it, turned my firewall off, and allowed mcd through the firewall and im still getting this issue. Its really frusterating to have given my money to something that isn't working.
same but here i it's probably a very specific problem on our computer
the files are all in the same spot as regular minecraft so there's no reason why the game shouldn't be able to access the internet. also since the game opens and i get the prompt to log in the game has connected to the internet it just screws up when trying to load the game. i really cant see that being an issue on my computer.
So I just Uninstalled the launcher and the game and reinstalled them and now my game is working?? I'll check again in an hour or so to see if I still get the issue
what ?
weird maybe there is an apdate ?
on my side i'm trying to launch it on a vm to see if the problem show up
it's a probleme with the proxy idk why but i had a proxy so i desactevate it and now it's ok
Solved :
Go to
>
>
and disable the proxy !
I have reinstalled the game and my proxy was already disabled and the game still doesn't work still says Network issue for me
Go to :
C:\Program Files (x86)\Minecraft Dungeons Launcher\debug.log
in this file you can find the error, send it here.
I am downloading the game through the microsoft store so I dont have a minecraft launcher.
So where would the debug.log be at? I know where the game is downloaded but everything says no access and ive changed it to have access on stuff but still alot of it locks you out as in you cant even get access what a pain just to fix this issue.
idk the launcher version is more "open" than the MS store.
at first i purchase the MS store version but i refund it for the launcher version (I was thinking the MS store version was the problem)
maybe you have a log.txt or a a file like this ...
but here I ca't help you sorry
This is exactly my problem! Okay, I'll write down what I know and what I did so far. First I installed the newest functional update for Windows 10 and actualized my drivers. I made an exception in my Windows Defender Firewall and I also tried to shut it down. I reinstalled the game, I tried to use the Beta Launcher and I clicked on the 'Repair' button.
I reset my network connections completely and disconnected from a VPN which I used for academical research a few days ago.
After reading the comments above I made sure that my computer is not using a proxy or VPN. Then I looked into the debug folder and found this: [0614/001124.420:WARNING:dns_config_service_win.cc(669)] Failed to read DnsConfig.
I don't know what this means and I have got no ideas left to solve this problem. :/
Is this still an issue in the newest version of the title?
We just had another ticket about this come in yesterday:
MCD-4150Yes, the problem persists in the 'Jungle Awakens' version. I reinstalled the game again and tested it, but it shows me exactly the same behaviour.
MCD-4158is a similar problem by the way.Updated the issue with a possible workaround. If it doesn't take, we would appreciate any further information on the subject matter.
I got a question would it be possible to copy the save somewhere before reinstalling
The saves should be under Users>You>AppData>Roaming. If you are using the Launcher version, the Launcher should not delete saves, unless you specifically mark that option.
I would try the workaround, but I've got no other game which requires a Xbox Live login. My only other game from Microsoft Studios is Minecraft. Is there a free one which has to be connected with Xbox Live?

📂 *Creating a Backup on Windows*
WIN(⊞)-R > Copy and paste the following path into the Run Box:
_1.2.0.0 and above_
%HOMEPATH%\Saved Games\Mojang Studios\Dungeons
Then, Press enter > Copy the _*number folder*_, not just individual files.
Do *Not* back them up in the Appdata folder, put them somewhere safe like a USB, Cloud storage or an External Hard Drive.
@Daniel Wystyrk The save data path was moved in v1.2.0.0. Both PC versions now share the same path.
i think i found why i didn't work for me.I use panda antivirus and i visited my firewall.Apparantly there was a rule: dungeons.exe (deny outgoing).
Which i set to allow outgoing, this fixed the problem for me.So maybe if we need to delete our anti virus to let it work it is because then this setting resets.
So maybe turning this setting on allow will fix the problem for everyone.
I've got new information. The minecraft dungeons launcher shows a red warning message now: "We can't check which products you own. Please check your internet connection." (Translation German -> English)
Such a message is not shown in the title screen of the game.
Edit: Nevermind, this was due to a recent password change. Now the warning message disappered. I'm sorry.
I am having the exact same issue. I use bitdefender and can get the game to load when I completely disable the firewall. Unfortunately, I cannot add a rule in my firewall to allow this file because the file location is unknown or inaccessible.
I am using the MS store version. Where is the .exe file located? How do you setup a rule in Bitdefender to allow Dungeons.exe?
Thanks!
The problem is solved for me! I read through some of the older comments and Juggernaute said that I have to disable my proxy. All the time I thought that there's no proxy activated on my computer. A few minutes ago I checked this again and I found that 'Use proxy server' was toggled to off, but not 'Detect settings automatically'! This one setting was the only cause of struggle for the past few months. Now I can play the game flawlessly (so far). I feel like a derp now and hope this is the solution for other people, too. Thank you, Jira Team! And thank you, Juggernaute!
