Low performance on Nintendo Switch since the Nether DLC update
I've been playing dungeons for a while now with (almost) no lag, until the flames of the nether dlc/update rolls in. Now its so laggy it feels unplayable. Even in camp when it shouldn't be lagging, it is. A lot. I really hope this can get fixed...

I can confirm that performance has degraded on the Nintendo Switch since the release of 1.8.0.0. I believe this is the same issue Serena was describing. These are my observations:
Gen 1 Nintendo Switch
System Software: 11.0.1
Minecraft Dungeons: 1.8.0.0_580
Using a game cartridge
General:
Creeper Woods (Default VI) - Poor performance.
Cacti Canyon (Default VI) - This level ran pretty well.
Pumpkin Pastures (Default VI) - Very poor performance.
Redstone Mines (Default VI) - This level ran pretty well.
Fiery Forge (Default VI) - This level ran pretty well.
I have the same issue with the latest 'plain' MC Dungeons download version on Switch, running from internal flash memory (no SD card).
No additional DLC yet.
When docked the frame-rate can really drop such that it becomes almost unplayable, indeed 4-5 fps. It doesn't seem specifically tied to the number of enemies on screen, or whether or not I'm with multiple players. In hand-held mode performance is acceptable.
Hardware: 2nd generation Switch, updated to the lastest version of the FW.
This continues to be an issue with me. I am running 1.8.8.0 on SwitchOS 12.0.1. Things worked well in the tutorial level on single player. It was ok on local multiplayer, but creeper woods on level one was horrendous. I am sick of this. They really need to fix this, because I would love to play with my dad on a regular basis (back on a regular schedule).
Today, after many months of not having touched the Nitendo Switch version of the game, I decided to boot it up again to do some couch play on my main which I now have on the cloud.
I was really excited, right until I got into the game. The loading screens lag. The hub lags. The MAP lags. And then I got into Creepy Crypts. Wow.
Indoors it was manageable, but the moment I got outside the game was so choppy and abysmal in performance that it caused a headache ánd nausea. Something I've never experienced with any game before.
Mojang, really, do something about this. It's only a matter of time until some lawyer finds out about this and starts a class action suit, if that's what it takes.
Is the issue specific to playing while the console is docked, or does it occur even when it isn't?
I only have trouble when docked. I have not noticed any annoying frameskip in hand-held
It would be very appreciated if we could receive confirmation on the above question from a higher number of users.
Is the low framerate issue specific to playing while the console is docked, or does it occur even when it is not?

I play MC:Dungeons on a Switch Lite and performance is all-around pretty terrible. A small selection of levels is playable, given you play singleplayer, but on most maps (especially when playing multiplayer, be it local or online) the performance is sickness-inducing.
Is the performance affected by the game being played while the console is docked, or is it poor even in handheld mode? Please let us know.

Only when docked I find the frame-skip noticeable. One troublesome part is at the end of the redstone mines near the end-boss with all the animated lava textures.
I'm not playing with any additional content yet, I'm not that far into the game yet.
I think I have the most recent version, as I downloaded an update yesterday. I have a 2nd generation Switch.
It appears that the performance issues seem to be largely caused by playing while the console is docked.
