Sounds Missing for old_alpha a1.1.2 and older.
I know there have been many complaints about sounds not working in older Minecraft versions and many of them have been resolved. However, I was not able to get sound to work in a1.1.2 and older versions.
I tried all of the typical fixes such as downloading an old resource folder, copying assets to resources, checking to make sure audio was turned on, etc.

I can confirm this issue, however a newer ticket, MCL-13501, has gained more attention, and this will likely be resolved as a duplicate of it.

Can confirm on a completely fresh install of the game, as well as my regular instance. I attached the launcher_log.txt.

The problem is that the versions don't care about the already download resources folder. They absolutely want to download them again from a server which is now down.
For Minecraft Classic c0.30_01c, I already made a pull request to fix this issue.
