Blocks losing transparency and shape when looking from afar with a spyglass
When looking high distances with the spyglass, transparent blocks can be seen fully opaque (leaves, seagrass, glass), some blocks can be seen with their model broken (cacti), while other blocks just disappear (tall grass).

Note: the LOD for distant blocks being unaffected by the spyglass is tracked at MCPE-126338. This report raises the same issue for entities. The only difference is that entities have a fixed render distance of the lesser of 70 blocks or simulated chunk range, which is not affected by the render distance video setting.
Steps to reproduce
- Spawn a villager inside a glass box.
- Move 75 blocks away straight along any axis (X, Y, or Z).
- Use a spyglass to look at the glass box.
Expected result
You see the villager. 75 blocks is within the shortest available render distance in the game of 5 chunks, so you can still see the glass.
Observed result
You cannot see the villager, only the glass box.
When using a spy glass blocks/mobs become invisible or are not fully rendered if the player is 70 blocks away.
Confirmed, but let's keep this report focused on entities since blocks are tracked at MCPE-126338.
Personally, I find that this issue limits the usefulness of the spyglass quite a bit and is counterintuitive. You would expect the spyglass to give you a view of things farther away, but with the entity render limit of 70 and the spyglass zooming in by about 50 blocks, the range where it is actually helpful is very narrow. For mobs closer than about 50-60 blocks the mob fills the entire window so you can't really get information about how it is situated. That leaves just about one chunk of range at ~4 chunks away where the spyglass gives a helpful view of mobs, items, etc.

Sugar Cane has a similar problem
affects 1.17.10
affects 1.17.30.20
This issue is similar to MCPE-102351
the distance effects are different shapes
Contrary to the comment above, this issue is not related at all to MCPE-102351.
The visual effects described on this report are detailed on MCPE-124841 and are affected by the render distance setting. This report just raises the expectation that using the spyglass would bypass the game's LOD behavior in addition to changing the FOV.
