Selecting text does not highlight it
The bug
Text does not get highlighted when selected, for example with ctrl+a or with shift+left/right arrow keys. This makes it impossible to see what text is selected.
Steps to reproduce:
- Open chat
- Enter some text
- Select some text, for example with ctrl+a or with shift+left/right arrow keys.

Text is not highlighted, and remains visually unchanged

The bug
Text does not get highlighted when selected, for example with Ctrl+A or with Shift+left/right arrow keys. This makes it impossible to see what text is selected.
What I expected to happen was:
For the text to be highlighted upon being selected.
What actually happens:
The text remains exactly the same.

Click and drag doesn't select text at all. Ctrl+x, ctrl+c, ctrl+z and ctrl+y have no effect either.
Affects other platforms too, not just windows
