In the beta the villagers will stop farming at night. They do not move. Once the sun comes up they resume farming.

I have the same issue MCPE-31341. They will not do anything from sunset to sunrise.
This is normal they are scared at night and normally hide in houses
Also happening while raining. They won't breed or move either. Still occurs in 1.6.0.
Works as intended if there is a door nearby. Without a door, farmer will be harvesting and planting at night.
Also WAI during rain. At least so sez Wiki: "At night or during rain, villagers will run inside, closing doors behind them"
