Information from a duplicate report (MCPE-48919) confirms that the sounds from pressure plates, levers, buttons, tripwires, and comparators aren't directional either.
Confirmed for 1.12 and 1.13.0.2.
Possibly this issue is caused by MCPE-48919.
I agree with the OP. These volume sliders are nice but largely pointless if they don't affect the single most annoying sounds in the game.
I note the existence of:
MCPE-14420dropper and dispenser sound is not directional (added to development teams bug tracker in 2016) andMCPE-48919Blocks that use click.ogg play at full volume (exists).
To me this indicates that the source of the issue is that these sounds do not exist within the volumetric volume system that all other game sounds inhabit and that are controlled by the new sliders. I think if the devs do not wish the move these sounds into the main volumetric audio space (likely because of the PVP trap consequences that may arise) then there should be an additional slider for "sounds that originate at player" or you know general Redstone sounds.
True (and annoying, with my auto-incinerator going in my base)
I'm guessing this is intended to address the lack of sound drop-off yeah?
I'm not sure that I know what you mean, but it's shouldn't be intended because
MCPE-14420is confirmed.Somehow, though, the lever and comparator are much quieter than the other affected blocks.
Can confirm for all 1.16 versions currently avaliable.
Click attenuation.mcpack
fixes this bug. I have provide the analysis in a comment on
MCPE-14420.Can anyone confirm in 1.17.40.20 Beta?
This is actually already fixed in 1.17.30.
