Nylium doesn't drop itself when mined with a non-Silk Touch pickaxe
If you break nylium with a pickaxe it will drop netherrack. You only get nylium if you break it down with silk touch.
Steps to Reproduce:
- Obtain a pickaxe and nylium.
- Place the nylium.
- Mine the nylium using the pickaxe.
Observed Results:
Netherrack is dropped.
Expected Results:
Nylium should drop itself when mined with a non-Silk Touch pickaxe.

What? This is working as intended? This doesn't make any sense to me. The developers said that they want to make more parity, so this could not be intended.

Observed results:
In Java Edition, Nylium drops nylium instead of netherrack when mined with a pickaxe. This is wokring as intended per the comment in MC-170900.
In Bedrock Edition, Nylium drops netherrack when mined with a pickaxe without Silk Touch. This is working as intended per MCPE-66941.
Expected results:
Parity

If it's working as intended, then how come it was also marked "WAI" for the bedrock codebase to drop netherrack when mined w/o silk touch? Refer to MCPE-66941.
But this isn't the case in the Bedrock codebase. Mega Spud resolved the ticket as WAI when this was created. Refer to MCPE-66941. Plus, it's inconsistent with how the rest of the vegetation works.

This behavior doesn't match current java features.
If this stays, even less parity will be a thing in this world, and if Java do the same, even more people are going to cry
(because already a lot of people are crying because of quarantine)
True. We will never have parity if small things like this is considered, what? Working as intended? Oh my god.
Please, Nylium should drop itself without silk touch enchantment.

On java, nylium doesn't need silk touch to drop itself when mined though...
Guys.... stop saying we won't get Parity!!!!! Why can't you guys just think "Maybe it will be like that on Java" or "Ok it makes sense because grass is like that" JUST THINK ABOUT IT BEFORE YOU JUDGE!!! GOSH
Here's a quick update for those of you who are concerned. The Java bug report,
MC-172197, has been reopened to resolve this issue.
