Incorrect Fire Charge Noise
This bug is in survival and creative, lighting a Fire Charge creates the same noise as flint and steel, presumably the noise of the flint scraping against it, but probably this was not intended for a fireball.

This report is a follow-up to an attempted fix for [ MC-1831 ] in version 14w31a.
I'm unsure as to whether the original issue should be re-opened or whether (as the conditions have changed) there should be a new bug report. I'll leave this up to the discretion of the mods if they wish to merge this with the original report.
[19:07:43] [Client thread/WARN]: File minecraft:sounds/mob/ghast/fireball.ogg does not exist, cannot add it to event minecraft:item.fireCharge.use
The correct asset the game should be pulling is sounds/mob/ghast/fireball4.ogg, as a result the game plays no sound for the fire charge use.
I verified that Ghasts still play fireball sounds. I verified that forcing sound assets to re-download does not resolve the issue.
Is there another sound file in the game that you think was intended for the Fire Charge?
Confirmed in 13w04a.
Not sure this counts as a bug (after all, you're not throwing fireballs, it's limited to your usual reach, so it's not like it should obviously make the ghast/dispenser fireball noise), but if it is — perhaps the sound could be the old 'fwump' sound the Flint and Steel used to make.
Is this still a concern in the current Minecraft version 1.6.4 / Launcher version 1.2.5 ? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases.
Confirmed described behavior for 1.6.4.

Dear mods, do old bugs (as opposed to ones that were, say, introduced in the current snapshot series) really need this frequent of reconfirmation? I think it's much more likely to cause a false closure if the reporter(s) aren't persistent, and IMO reporters shouldn't be obligated to install snapshot versions.
This bug has changed behaviour as of 14w31a due to an attempted fix.
