MC-258159Pick block doesn't work on Ender Dragon
Summary:
When using pick block on an Ender Dragon, the player isn't given a spawn egg. All other mobs have pick block (including for example, a Wither).
Steps to reproduce:
- Spawn an Ender Dragon in Creative mode.
- Press the pick block button while looking at Ender Dragon.
Observed results:
Nothing happens.
Expected results:
A spawn egg should be given.

In 1.21.4 Release Candidate 2, I am unable to use pick block on the Ender Dragon to obtain the Ender Dragon spawn egg. However, in 1.21.3, I can use pick block to get the spawn egg. Identical to MC-258159.
How to reproduce:
- Head to the End dimension
- Attempt to use pick block on the ender dragon
Expected result:
I would receive an ender dragon spawn egg.
Observed result:
I do not receive an ender dragon spawn egg.
Upon further research, this issue report is identical to MC-258159, which has already been fixed. I’m updating the title because the pick block action can be remapped to keys other than the middle mouse button.
Confirmed.
This is mostly fixed in 1.19.3 RC-1; an active Ender Dragon can be pick blocked for its egg. But one with no AI still cannot, which is inconsistent with other mobs that have no AI and can still be pick blocked
I suggest creating a new ticket for this issue.
