all wooden logs, wooden fences, chests, enchantment tables, red stone, pistons, sticky pistons, crops, doors, bookcases, stone blocks, stone half slabs have disappeared..... in fact all that is left is cobblestone and wooden planks. the environment seems to be fine with all mobs present and correct. worst thing is i have no back up......

It this a world created in 14w26c or created in an earlier version and used by 14w26a / 14w26b ? If so , that world is broken, see MC-59294

i think it was 26b.... i was using latest version and turned off at about 02:00hrs gmt. everything was fine. i loaded up at approx 21:00hrs gmt tonight and that is when i saw everything was missing. instead of just exiting i saved and exited.... big mistake.

i have looked around the environment and all trees are missing...... literally all i have is water, dirt, cobblestone, wooden planks and mobs.

Changed my snapshots profile from 'use latest' to '14w26b' and loaded a backup save and all seems to be fine. I shall update manually from now on after testing for nasties.
webchimp this doesn't solve any problem - it will amplify your problems. The bug is not in 14w26c, it is in 14w26a and 14w26b. Any world you work on with this versions will be damaged.

I'd highly suggest that you check it out, and maybe this could be added to the moderator note by any chance.
