Spawn egg 'use' animation not shown when using on animal
When using a spawn egg on a (matching) animal, it won't show the use animation, while it uses the item to create a baby animal.
Also, it looks like the 'use' animation slows down the next-use time, while no animation does not slows down the next-use time.

Confirmed. This can make it difficult to tell whether or not you've used the egg, and may result in people spamming it, producing many babies unintentionally.
Confirmed in 1.8.3. What do you mean by "the 'use' animation slows down the next-use time"?
That sure is a late response, Isaac (only 6 months after opening!)
.
Yes, this thing is still present in v 1.8.3 and should be fixed I think.
its harder to spawn mobs compared to spawning their baby versions, because of this no-delay action.
I haven't noticed any delay, just the "no animation" thing.
Seems to affect 1.13.1. See
