The bug
Minecarts with furnaces don't push minecarts continually. The minecart with a furnace was supposed to follow me and push me, but it just boosted me ahead and it stayed behind once I put fuel in it and hopped in.
I expected the minecart with a furnace to continually push me and stay right behind me all the time (on flat ground)
How to reproduce
- Put down a minecart with a furnace and a minecart a few blocks ahead of it
- Fuel the minecart with the furnace from behind it, then walk into it (push it) and sprint into your minecart
- Once in your minecart you'll realize that you will be boosted ahead with your minecart with a furnace staying behind chugging very slowly towards you

This happened after 1.8 but I couldn't put down 1.8+ under versions

it used to push you before 1.8 but now it just boosts you, I hope this bug can be fixed in 1.9
Just tested in 15w43c and this still occurs. The problem is that the furnace minecart gives a very powerful (but short) boost to a cart it comes near, so that it shoots off down the track until it eventually slows down enough (or stops) at which point the furnace minecart eventually catches up and gives another sudden boost. The previous behaviour was that the furnace minecart would simply push the other minecart rather than shooting it off uncontrollably.
Yes, exactly. Can this be fixed in 1.9 please? This would make railroads better again!

Yeah, its NOT what you reported. But, you have like 1 vote and 5 people watching. The other related bug has way more. (50 & 37) Maybe by combining forces we can get it all fixed? 'Cause powered mine carts haven't worked at all for over a year.
