The bug
Since the introduction of the new boats, the splash particles aren't shown above-water when riding a boat.
How to reproduce
- Ride a boat at full speed
→ You'll see particles of whatever block is right below the surface. You'll see water if it's deep, but dirt or clay if you ride into a 1-block shallow area.

From what I can see, the particles are generated but appear at the wrong position. You can see the particles under water when in F5 mode.

Fixed – by removing the splash particles altogether.
