Bastion Remnant Loot in Bedrock Edition is not in parity with Java Edition
As I was browsing the Minecraft Wiki, I found that Bastion Remnant loot in Bedrock Edition was not updated along with the addition of Piglin Brutes, unlike how it was updated on the Java Edition to make Bastion loot more valuable. I supposed this would eventually be fixed/ported over from Java to Bedrock like everything is, but now the Caves & Cliffs update betas have started and no attention has been paid to that issue. I compared the loot tables on the Wiki with Bastion chests I found in Creative, and it seemed they really have not been updated. As I searched the Treasure Room in multiple copies of one world, I never found one block of iron, something you're as likely to find as gold blocks on the Java Edition. I'm sure this was unintended, because the difference is very significant, and that is considered a parity issue.
How to reproduce:
- Create multiple copies of a random world.
- Locate and reach the same (type of) Bastion Remnant on each copy of the world (the loot should be random each time).
- Compare the loot you find in the chests in each copy with the "Generic" loot table, or preferably with the loot table relative to the type of Bastion (you can compare the loot with both tables).
- The loot you find should be consistent with the Bedrock Edition loot table, and much less applicable to the Java Edition loot table, indicating disparity. For instance, you should not find any blocks of iron in any type of Bastion, and you should find that stacks of gold and iron ingots never stack up to 9 like in the Java Edition.
P.S: You could simply locate multiple Bastion Remnants of the same type in one or more worlds.

@Ziad_06 You're welcome! btw I was not complaining. I was just stating information about the bug fix because I thought it might be useful. I am also very happy that it is finally fixed

@Umija5895M, to clarify this bug report: I visited 9 bastions and opened from 3 through 13 chests per bastion; MCPE-104330 is reporting a loot table disparity between JAVA and Bedrock versions; there is no mention of the Pigstep Music Disc which is only available from a bastion chest I find it hard to believe this Bug Report is a duplicate of MCPE-104330 . Finally, I use the Search feature of the Bug Site before I waste my time in reporting a bug. Here's the Search: project = "Minecraft (Bedrock codebase)" AND affectedVersion = "1.17.2 Hotfix" AND description ~ "pigstep" AND Status in (Open, Reopened)
Please critique the Search and let me know what the parameters should be to find a bug report for "no Pigstep Music Disc in bastion chests". Thanks, and have a great day!
Don't specify affectedVersion in a search as older tickets might not have been updated to list every affected version. Also, it can be helpful to search closed tickets too sometimes especially if there are duplicates as those can point to the main ticket.
Assuming you opened 8 chests per bastion, for 72 total chests, that would still have an 11% chance of not finding a pigstep disc (with 3% chance per chest).
MCPE-104330 covers all bastion remnant chest loot, including pigstep disc.

Affects 1.16.100
Affects 1.16.200.56 Beta
Thanks for the update!
Seems like the changes from 1.16.2 in java edition are not present in bedrock, like it was an issue with bartering. (
MCPE-92662) You can also go here to see all of the bastion loot changes from java 1.16.2.In Windows 10 PC Bedrock v1.16.210.61 Beta, I visited 6 Bastions in Survival mode, and I found 0 Pigstep music discs which makes the music disc achievement impossible.
6 months later, still waiting for a fix. Let's just hope it would be fixed when 1.17.0 releases.
Fixed in 1.17.10!
Can confirm that its fixed in 1.17.10.21 beta. thank you so much!!
I compared all the numbers of the new bastion loot tables provided on the Wiki with Java loot tables and they are the same except for two differences: arrows and ancient debris. The first difference is arrows in "Bridge" and "Generic" loot tables having higher chances of generating in chests on Bedrock than on Java. Also, in these two loot tables, Bedrock arrows have the weight and stack sizes of Java arrows and spectral arrows combined. I think these differences between arrows on the two versions are intentional to kinda compensate for the absence of spectral arrows on Bedrock and this is pretty understandable. The second one is ancient debris in "Hoglin Stable" loot table having a stack size of 2 on Java but of 1 on Bedrock. That means (if I undestand it right) if a chest in the Hoglin Stable structure is to generate ancient debris, it always generates 2 on Java but on bedrock it genrates only 1 .I don't know if this is intentional or the devs just missed it.
Edit: added two attachments to demonstrate what I am saying. I know my editing is bad.
Veldoc, thank you very much for these observations. They likely just missed it while coding. This is very minor though. Can't really complain about it. Bastion Remnants are finally fair! I was waiting for the bug to be fixed to visit a Treasure Room near my Nether base. Now I'm much more likely to find Pigstep!
Thankyou for this parity change!
I think it should be marked as resolved now. The loot tables are essentially identical. We really can't ask for more

Ya ya, I know you were not complaining. Just expressing the fact that I'm very satisfied with the current status. Thanks for the information again, definitely useful!
This effects Windows 10 PC Bedrock v.17.2 I visited 9 Bastion remnants, and there were no pigstep music discs. I only found the pig snout banner patterns.
