Animals have a short breeding cooldown
Update by [Mojang] Mega_Spud (Jay Wells):
Summary:
Animals can be fed very soon again after breeding, and don't have the 5 minute cool-down as they do in the Java edition.
Steps to Reproduce:
- Breed two cows with wheat
- Try to feed them again after 30 - 60 seconds.
Observed Results:
The cows can be fed again, causing them to breed
Expected Results:
They shouldn't be able to be fed/bred again for 5 full minutes.
Screenshots/Videos attached: Yes
Notes:
Original Description:
Cows and Sheep have a very short cooldown (around 30 to 45 seconds) after entering love mode to enter the love mode again.
I found a post in the internet saying they should have a cooldown with around 5 minutes.
The screenshot is from my cow farm, where I could fed the cows two whole stacks of wheat (and I don't have 128 cows).
The time I counted was with two wild cows and two wild sheep. I could not test other animals.

Many lines in the Minecraft Encyclopedia use outdated language, as blocks, items, and biomes have changed names over the years.
For example, this line in the Blocks page calls the Old Growth Taiga a "Mega Taiga", an outdated term since 1.18. The same page refers to red sand zone as a Badlands biome, so this page is clearly intended to use the most up-to-date language.
Here are all the occurrences I could find throughout the Encyclopedia of outdated names:
| Page | Outdated Name/Info | Correct Name |
|---|---|---|
| Armor | Chain | Chainmail |
| Armor | Gold (2 occurrences) | Golden (2 occurrences) |
| Banners | Oxeye Daisy (this is used to craft the Flower Charge Banner Pattern, not added directly to the crafting grid.) | Flower Charge Banner Pattern |
| Blocks | Dirt Block | Dirt block |
| Blocks | Mega Taiga | Old Growth Taiga |
| Blocks | Savanna | Windswept Savanna |
| Ranching | 5 minutes | 1 minute (MCPE-25233) |
| Redstone | "Redstone Dust comes from Redstone that transmits..." | "Redstone Dust comes from Redstone Ore. This dust transmits..." |
| The End | End Portal frame | End Portal Frame |
| The End | Ender Crystal | End Crystal |
| Eye Of Ender | <---- Title is miscapitalized (does not match item name) | Eye of Ender |
| Game Settings | Do Daylight Cycle | Daylight Cycle |
Expected Result
Wording and information in the Minecraft Encyclopedia is up-to-date with the latest version.
Observed Result

Is this considered WAI or will it be paired with Java?
This is also inconsistent with the how to play information you can see in this screenshot:
It says 5 minutes.
The how-to-play information for Ranching has been updated to specify a 1 minute breeding cooldown, indicating that this bug should be resolved Works As Intended.
