Custom Skins not showing in body style selection. Must restart to activate new skin
When I want to change to a second custom skin it asks which body style I want.
The thin arms version shows the new skin I have selected, the thick arms version shows the previous custom skin.
If I want to use the thick arms body style my old skin is chosen so I have to choose thin arms.
If I want to add a 3rd custom skin, the body selector shows both previous custom skins and I cannot use the new skin unless I close minecraft and restart.
I found a better workaround for this. While the body type selector is being displayed, minimize the game window to the taskbar. When you restore it, the body type window will be rebuilt with your new skin in both positions.

We are using the latest version of BDS to run a private server. Both my wife and I are using custom skins made using the Alex model. We updated to 1.13 today and I noticed that although my wife has chosen her skin, she appears in game to both me and herself as using my skin. To troubleshoot we both logged off and she logged into the server first. Now I have her skin appearing for me and for her. Both of us are running Windows 10's latest build. So whoever logs into the server first sets the skin for everyone.
From duplicate reports, we get the following information:
- This has been reported for all multiplayer play, on Realms, BDS servers, and over LAN.
- It's not necessarily that all players have the same skin, it's that players can have a skin that belongs to a different player.
- Different people may see a third player wearing different skins at the same time, so the mixup must be happening in the client.
- The evidence points to this being an issue only for imported skins, not Character Creator skins or skins obtained from a skin pack.
- When a player tries to fix their skin by re-importing it, the model chooser will often have the foreign skin in one of its choices, even though the skin file for that skin doesn't exist on this player's computer. (See
MCPE-54848for a related bug.)
This issue is caused by the game saving an imported skin image to a file named custom.png. In previous releases, where the player only ever had one skin at a time, this worked fine, but now that the player's profile allows up to 5 characters, any or all of which can use an imported skin file, the use of the custom.png copy cannot work.
This same underlying issue causes MCPE-54848, which reports that choosing the geometry for an imported skin isn't handled correctly when a prior character is using an imported skin. I would expect a fix for this problem to solve that one as well, but I can't be sure of that so I'm leaving them as separate but related issues.

Your sock height change is an unrelated issue. Please put only one issue in each report, as we can't track separate issues when we only have one field each for status, fix version, etc.

Katlin L Arvin: Please don't use the comments to ask us to hurry up, especially to fix a different bug than the report is about. (The bug you're talking about is MCPE-54848.) The bug tracker doesn't have any input on when a bug gets fixed. All we do is screen the reports, try to add more information, and pass them on to the developers. The bug you're talking about is important and affects a lot of people, so I'm sure they're working hard to get it resolved as soon as they can. In the meantime, you might want to upvote and watch MCPE-54848 in case there are any updates.
Chandler Smith: If you saw this foreign skin in the body type selection screen during the import, I suspect it was caused by a different bug, MCPE-54848. The foreign skin is just a remnant from an earlier session and will go away if you send the app to the background, then restore it. The other bug hasn't been fixed yet, so you'll still see previous skin images in the body type selection, but they shouldn't be images of somebody else's skin any more.
This problem can also continue to happen in a multiplayer session if the hosting device is still using 1.13.0. (Cross play is supported between 1.13.0 and 1.13.1.) Please make sure the hosting device has been updated to 1.13.1.
If you continue to see other players wearing the wrong skins in a multiplayer session after the hosting device has been updated, that would be a reason to reopen this ticket.

However, this issue is Invalid.
Please put only one bug report in each ticket. It is very difficult to keep track of bugs when they are not in their own tickets, and it is easier for you to make multiple tickets than for the mods to separate them.
The first and second issues are being tracked at MCPE-54848 and MCPE-54715.

In order to see some skins of other players, you may need to disable "Only Allow Trusted Skins" under Settings>Profile. If your friends cannot see your skin, they should check the toggle on their profile.
For issues with importing multiple custom skins see MCPE-54235 and MCPE-54848.
When playing in multiplayer, sometimes I cannot see my friend's custom profile. They appear as one of the two default skins (seemingly at random). They seek their own chosen skin in 3rd person, though. And they see me in one of the default skins as well, sometimes the same one as theirs, sometimes the other one, and again I see my own profile skin when looking at myself in 3rd person.

📓 Project Summary – ✍️ Feedback and Suggestions – 📖 Game Wiki
Confirmed on Windows 10 1.13.0.
Minecraft currently doesn't support importing multiple skins from images files. As in past releases, an imported skin file is saved to the file custom.png in the com.mojang\minecraftpe folder. The Character Creator now makes it possible to have up to 5 custom skins in the user's Profile, but they all take their image from the single custom.png file.
Steps to reproduce:
Expected results:
The selected skin file is applied to both models, and whichever one you choose is saved in the character slot.
Actual results:
If this is the first time you've imported an image (i.e. there is no custom.png skin file), it is applied to both models and you can choose which one you want. However, if you previously imported a skin image, whether for the same or a different character, the custom.png image is applied to the model you chose when you imported it, and the newly selected image is applied to the other model. Whichever model you choose determines the image saved for this character as custom.png.
[MCPE Mod] Auldrick: Does that mean that when I name the skin custom.png. The bug happened?
Chandler: No, it doesn't matter what you name your custom skin file. When you import a custom skin, the game saves a copy of it internally, and that copy is always named custom.png. (This isn't new; the game has always done this.) The point I was trying to make was that because the game always uses the same file name internally, each imported skin overwrites the previous one, so it's not currently possible to import different custom skins for different characters.
oof. Why can't we have multiple custom.png files (e.g: character1.png, character2.png, etc•)
I imagine we could, and I'm hoping Mojang will take the initiative to make it happen since it seems like an obvious ask. If they don't, we can still ask for it on the Feedback site.
