The RTX BETA is using a slightly older version of the codebase so its possible some bugs that have since been fixed in Nether BETA's will still be active on the current RTX version.

When a single map is created. Currently (1.15.0.53) 5 data entries are created map_[MAP ID Number]. All 5 entries have their own scale (0-4). The map_uuid of the map in the player inventory matches the ID of the first entry (lowest ID NR). And the first entry appears to always have a scale of 4. Hope this might help to identify the problem.
I can confirm maps only create level 4 in Windows 10 PC Beta v 1.15.0.55 and v.1.15.0.56. Level 4 detail is too small to make out villages and rivers.
This also includes treasure maps as well
Please fix, because it makes exploring difficult without level 3 maps. You cannot copy an existing map because it changes your old map to level 4 and it is impossible to get the original level 3 map back.
They really need to fix this. It’s making it impossible to map where villages and such are because everything is too small to see
Affects starting map zoom size in old and infinite worlds too.
Confirmed. I experience it. Please fix this bugs.
1.16.0.51, the maps are still somewhat bugged, creating them will result in a 4/4 map, but copying a map will keep the correct size.
