Swapping Sneak and Sprint is in the "touch" section under controls.
yshao0712 That's not the bug that is being described here. In Java Edition 1.15 there was an accessibility setting added for PC players that allowed them to switch between hold (shift/control enables sneaking/sprint when held down) and toggle mode (shift/control toggles sneaking/sprinting mode). This is already the case for mobile users, however no such option exists for PC users.
Jarl as I stated in my report
MCPE-85161Windows 10 did have the option via Sticky Keys and the Alt button. I am not sure what broke between 1.14.6 and 1.16, but this makes any kind of bridging (ie from any End Island) more tedious.Draco894 that is an OS function, we are talking about the built in function that is available in Java Edition is this report.
alt lock was super useful for preventing pain in my had when running for a long time. without shift lock i actually get physical pain in my left hand from playing minecraft. This should be a priority.
Jarl, I tested this by loading 1.14.60 and being able to lock crouch. It was in 1.16.0 that the Alt + Key functionality was lost. Echoing what MadHatter cited, my left hand has been cramping up as well from just 2 hours of play. I will record part of my Twitch stream tonight showing this change/difference and link it here.
This is an ugly bug/omission if you rely on crouch toggle in 1.16. The ALT keyboard toggle has been broken too now... literally no way to stay crouched/blocking on win10 bedrock edition it seems.
Jarl-Penguin or Mega Spud, sorry took a week to get the stream clip but here it is for your review. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/692256016

Is this going to be addressed?
Apparently this is not a priority....
Getting carpel tunnel, i have numbness and pain in my hand as i cant shift lock... This is an accessibility issue and is actually causing pain and harm to some players.
Is still an issue in 1.17.2 why is a disability accommodation not being resolved after a year?
This is definitely an accessibility issue. With essential tremors, it is almost impossible to hold the key down with pinkie and still move. Please add an option to change the key to toggle in the settings or something.
Still unable to toggle crouch on Windows Bedrock version 1.18.12. This is (still) making gameplay extremely hard for me.
This should be tagged with the "accessibility" label in addition to "vanilla-parity"
Affects 1.19.22 (Why isnt this still added like wth)
Affects 1.19.40.20 Preview
Affects 1.19.40.24 Preview
Why is this STILL not listed as an accessibility bug?
Affects 1.19.50.23 Preview.
Chiming in with another "minecraft has physically damaged me" because of the removal of crouch lock after a big Nether Bastion adventure. I had to crouch a lot which means a lot of strain on my pinky finger, and put my hand in a split for a week to fix the pain.
It would be great if this was fixed so it stops physically maiming people
It's painful to play while holding down shift, alt, or any key for that matter for extended periods of time. This is required often in Minecraft. Why this was removed from the PC bedrock version is beyond me. This is a physical accessibility issue and needs to be resolved immediately. It's embarrassing this has not been implemented...
