"Invalid signature for profile public key" when trying to open a private multiplayer world
This issue is affecting users who previously played Minecraft: Java Edition via PC Game Pass, or via our newly released feature where Minecraft: Bedrock Edition players can also play Minecraft: Java Edition. If you happen to migrate to one of these accounts, multiplayer will be affected for a duration of up to 40 hours after migration. After this, you should be able to play multiplayer again. We are working on a solution to prevent this from happening in the future.
Still doesn't seem to work after I close and reopen the game.

I cannot connect to realms because of this issue.
I would like to know that mojang has intentions to fix this error. If this error will be fixed soon, I wait for time. If not, I will buy Minecraft again using different Microsoft account.

I would also recommend adding the information that was requested for MC-253097:
Is this a migrated account? Are you opening to LAN or hosting a local dedicated server? Please include steps to reproduce.
this duplicates MC-253097, however, it was resolved as incomplete, because it didn't include enough info or steps to reproduce

I had a problem reported as MC-253097 , but now I am getting this error now. I have not played realms for a week.
Does anyone know how to resolve this problem?
---Once I turned off the security software, it was cured. It's my mistake. I'm sorry.
@[Helper] Jess Edward
no this is something different because:
- this problem only occurs in the new 22w43a snapshot
- enforce-secure-profile was already set to false and changing it doesnt change anything
- and i havn't had a PC Game Pass or migrated any account (i've direclty bought minecraft with a microsoft account)
so it's a different problem from the one in WEB-6059

Check that your computer's clock is in sync.
Is this a migrated account? Are you opening to LAN or hosting a local dedicated server? Please include steps to reproduce.
I have a very similar issue, per my report as
MC-252878. There are some differences, however:– I have no problem continuing playing (I only play SP, however, and do not log in to a MP server).
– I do not receive the popup; It only shows up in my logs.
– Some behavior may be different, such as when exiting the JE client and returning to the Launcher window, the Launcher window is completely blank.
– It only occurs when I have been running the JE client several hours, regardless of whether I am actively playing, or just sitting at the main JE window without entering a game world.
Also note that, for me, the computer clock is not a consideration: I play on my LAN Domain Controller – which keeps all my LAN computers in sync, and the DC itself is kept in sync from five different Internet NTP servers as well a radio time signal receiver (NIST broadcasts). It almost never has a time skew of more than one second from established atomic clocks.
Edit to add: I have fully migrated my account to the Microsoft services thingy about a week ago. I have experienced this issue both before and after the migration.
For me, steps to reproduce are simple. Start playing a game. Save world and then sit idle in the main menu screen overnight. Load the world again and check logs.
I have this issue as well none of the fixes work my clock is correct and my firewall is not blocking.
For everyone that is still affected by this issue, please comment steps to reproduce and add logs, if possible.
I'm also encountering this issue. I am using a migrated Microsoft account (username Islappedmykey if needed) and hosting a dedicated server. I try to log on and the error appears, I have restarted the application yet the error still occurs.
I only just migrated my Mojang account to Microsoft, I bought a realm for me and others to play on, they can join the realm but I cannot, the first error I receive is a time out error, then after that I will get "failed to connect to the server, invalid signature for profile public key. Try restarting your game." I am on 1.19.1, I have checked my computers time is synced, I've reinstalled the game, I've logged out of my Microsoft account but nothing seems to work.
When I restart the game the first error I get is the time out error, then the invalid signature error when are I try to join the realm again.

Hi, I've also encountered this issue. I've waited 2 days since originally getting the error after migrating the account, I was able to join when I did not migrate the account but after I migrated my mojang account I have received this error each time I try to join my friends minecraft server. Here are the logs below with the server IP redacted.
Notes: I have restarted my game+launcher re signed into my microsoft account, firewall is not blocking my connection, and waited a day for the problem to fix itself with the game closed on all platforms that I own it on.
No idea why my clock has to be synced to some specific time I use my computer clock to align with customers with work but I changed it back to my default time zone with the time synced since that was another fix I saw, it did not fix the issue.
Resolved: I dont know what was done but about a day after this post I was able to log in, removing the logs to consolidate the thread

Issues with modded servers are not tracked here. Please only add logs from vanilla servers.
I am also having this problem when joining realms with fabric but I dont have this issue logging onto my personal minecraft multiplayer server ran through aternos.
Hello,
I am getting this error while running a vanilla server as well. My friend just purchased a realm and he is completely unable to join due to this error.
I have yet to find a solution to this infuriating issue.
Hi I'm getting the same error on my vanilla LAN server running 1.19. I would like to know when will this be fixed because I need to get my server working in this week.
Same message when joining a friend's server.
Yesterday I bought a new copy of Minecraft on my Microsoft account and could log in to the server fine. Then today I realized I had an old Mojang account, refunded the Microsoft copy, ported over the Mojang account to the same Microsoft account, and now am encountering this message when I try to log into the server.

Hello,
I am having this problem when connecting to a friends realm. The problem started immediately after I migrated my mojang account to a microsoft account, and I have not been able to play since.
I have checked date/time, reinstalled the game and it makes no difference, the problem seems to be caused directly by the account migration
Hello,
I'm having this problem when connecting to my realm. The problem started immediately after I migrated my mojang account to a microsoft account, and I have not been able to play since. All my frineds can join my realm, but me.
I am having the same problem as well. I migrated my account from mojang to Microsoft and developed this problem saying “invalid signature of profile public key.” Tried restarting computer and game. Logged on and off of Microsoft and seems to be no fix.
Still having this issue, reinstalled. Removed some certificates from windows etc. I doubt it is an issue on my end. It seems like yall owe us a response or something (since we paid for the damn game) Please give us an update on anything... My Minecraft realm is just sitting there, I can't even use it... Sounds like the discrepancy lies within the certs being used. Since after the account migration, i wouldn't be surprised if it is comparing it to my Mojang account cert (which shouldn't exist anymore), not my Microsoft account. The last line suggests a credential issue, and the app confirms it with the invalid signature error.
