Created Issue:
Attached Pumpkin and Melon Stems do not drop seeds when broken
If you break a fully grown Pumpkin Stem or Melon Stem that is attached to an adjacent Pumpkin/Melon, no seeds will drop.
This also applies to entities trampling the Farmland, breaking the attached Stem with a Piston, Water washing the attached Stem away, and /setblock destroy.

Relates to MC-136360, MC-205885
Endermen holding normal stems drop the equivalent seeds, since the seeds are the item form of the block. However, the same is not true for attached stems - seeds would again be expected here, but nothing is dropped.
To reproduce:
/summon minecraft:enderman ~ ~ ~ {carriedBlockState:{Name:melon_stem}}- Kill it and note the dropped seeds
/summon minecraft:enderman ~ ~ ~ {carriedBlockState:{Name:attached_melon_stem}}- Kill it and note the dropped nothing
Also relating to melon and pumpkin stems: if you place a melon or pumpkin next to their counterpart stems, the stems do not connect with them like they did in 1.12.2. Don't know if this is intended or if I should make another issue for it.
Can confirm. I don't think stems should attach to placed pumpkins, doesn't make sense
