Chain model planes are incorrectly mirrored on the rear
For a comprehensive list of other examples of issues with 2D planes in models not being mirrored as expected, click here.
The bug
The planes composing chains do not mirror on the back as one would expect, resulting in physical/illogical weirdness.
Fixed model (Mojang has full permission to use this fix): chain.json
How to reproduce
- Place a chain
- View a specific section of the chain in question
- View the exact same section of the chain on the direct opposite side
- Note that the exact texture pattern at that position is different, even though it should be the same

Note how the crosshair is aimed at the same block pixel in both screenshots, yet it changes color depending on what side of the plane is looked at.
May be intentional as per
MC-96463.Fixed model attached.
This model contains prominent intersecting planes. However, as they are distinct in texture, the current behaviour may not be intended like with

The bug
The planes composing dripleaf plants do not mirror on the back as one would expect, resulting in physical/illogical weirdness.
How to reproduce
- Place a large dripleaf
- View the light pixel on top of the dripleaf
- View the leaf from below
- Note that the position of the light pixel has shifted

The bug
The plane composing the top of an azalea does not mirror on the back as one would expect, resulting in physical/illogical weirdness.
How to reproduce
- Place an azalea
- View a specific section of the azalea top from above, for example the sort of L shape visible to the left from the underside
- View the exact same section of that texture plane from the inside (best seen with night vision, due to
MC-213804) - Note that the exact texture pattern at that position is different, even though it should be the same
