Every block above a cobblestone wall (vines, fire, barrier) turns wall into corner stone
When a vine is growing from above a Cobblestone Wall, the Cobblestone Wall suddenly becomes a corner Cobblestone Wall. Technically there is a block above so the game thinks it has to update it. However, it are only vines and not something is to be expected.
To reproduce:
1. Build a Cobblestone Wall
2. Place or let a vine grow ontop of it.

Demonstrating this bug with as many types as I could in '14w27b' and this also shows the vine bug.

Dupe of MC-2349
This is not a duplicate of MC-2349. This issue was brought up before by another but it was just written off as a duplicate and thus remains unresolved. Placing walls underwater, causes walls to not connect properly, instead using a post because it thinks the water block above it means it needs to be a post.
How is this not a duplicate of MC-2349?
How is it a duplicate of MC-2349? that was from 1.4, long before you could even put walls underwater, they're not even vaguely related. And certainly not "works as intended."
MC-2349 says "cobblestone walls connect to any block above." In this case, the block above is water. Whether the wall is waterlogged has no bearing on this
This is definitely not a duplicate of MC-2349. That bug was just pointing out that all blocks trigger the connections. This however, is the equivalent of normal walls connecting to air blocks above them.

Is this still a concern in the current Minecraft version 1.6.4 / Launcher version 1.2.5 ? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases.

Problably not fixed, because of
MC-50296Not fixed.
Confirmed for 14w11b
confirmed in 14w27b; the picture I just added probably isn't the best but all of the non-solid blocks pictured (such as tripwire and buttons) trigger this effect.

This is working as intended. Any block placed on or beside a cobblestone wall will cause it to turn into a corner cobble wall.
Confirmed for 1.10.2.
Not 100% to my liking but no way to solve this without redoing 'what can attach to what'
