The top/middle/bottom ribcages and the right/left heads of the wither cannot be independently retextured
(This issue first appeared in Minecraft 1.4.2 when the wither was added)
All three ribcages (top, middle, and bottom) and the right/left heads of the wither boss cannot be independently retextured from one another, making them always look the same, limiting the player's resource pack creativity.
This affects both the base texture (wither.png) and the invulnerable texture (wither_invulnerable.png).
Steps to Reproduce:
- Download and apply the following resource pack:
Wither.zip
- Spawn, or create a wither boss using blocks
Observed Behavior:
The three ribcages and 2 side heads will look entirely red, despite the player seemingly only modifying one ribcage and one head in the UV map.
Expected Result:
Only one of the ribcages and heads would be altered, since that is what the player intended to change. The current behavior is unexpected and not resource pack friendly.

The four slot icons of the gamemode switcher pop-up cannot be independently retextured from one another, making them always look the same. This is limiting to the player's resource pack creativity, and is irregular when compared to the offhand slots. The offhand are visually identical to the gamemode switcher icons, yet the right and left slots can be retextured on their own (see the Screenshots section).
Steps to Reproduce:
- Download and apply the following resource pack:
GamemodeSwitcher.zip
- Use the gamemode switcher keybind (F3 + F4)
Observed Behavior:
All four icons will be highlighted in red, despite the player wanting to only modify one of them.

Suggested Fix:
Add three new icons in assets\minecraft\textures\gui\sprites\gamemode_switcher for the remaining slots, allowing for all four to be controlled on their own.
