Off-hand hotkey doesn't work in inventories
The bug
Off-hand hotkey doesn't work in inventories. Expected behavior would be moving the item to off-hand slot or back, just like numbers 1-9 move to represented slots on hotbar or (ctrl+)q drops items.
How to reproduce
- Open an inventory (player default, chest, crafting table, furnace, ...)
- Hover on an item
- Press the off hand key (default F)
→ Notice that nothing happens

Not fully fixed yet. If the key is not set to default, it still doesn't seem to work.

This was specifically fixed - MC-84610 - so yes, this is intentional.
This is likely intended but I reopened it.
Moving items by pressing number keys or F is disabled when you have an item on the cursor. However, shifting items by clicking works as expected, even if the player.cursor slot is occupied. This issue is related to MC-200693, MC-84610, and MCPE-96260.
Confirmed for 16w15b.
What's "postponed"? Should be easy to fix. Just copy the code for the number keys and change the slot number.
Postponed means "We have noticed this bug, and it'll be fixed later.", no need to update postponed tickets.
Depending on how this is fixed this may actually give us the ability to move items into/from the offhand slot in all inventories, even if the slot isn't displayed in the GUI overlay. I'd like that.
Confirmed for 1.13.1.
