Desert temple second dungeon secret impossible to get because of map rotation.
I was trying to get the secrets for the desert temple mission but it was imposseble for me to open the second dungeon door. I did hear all the sound effects of the opening sequence.
What i expected to happen was:
When i activated the presure plate the door would open.
What actually happend was:
All the sound effects played but i couldn't enter the door and the door didn't apear on the map.
Steps to reproduce:
1: enter the desert temple mission.
2: go into the dungeon with the beacon puzzle.
3: go to the secret chest.
4: step over the presure plate to activate the door.
5: if your orientation is like in the attachment you can't enter the door.

@Reaper8U Yeah, I did some further searching among the other issues submitted here and saw someone mention they tried a controller to no avail. MCD-1701

(this is a repost of MCD-7704 as the ticket has no activity but was posted a while ago)
I ran across this same bug and wanted to give a small addition to this post because I didn't see it mentioned-
This bug seems to occur using both a mouse & keyboard, and a controller. While I am someone who uses a mouse and keyboard over 99% of the time, I had a controller my friend got me laying around to test this. Even using that, for whatever reason I am still unable to access the door despite hearing it open.
I have played through the game before, and have been able to access this door in other orientations.
I have this exact issue on windows 10 with mouse/keyboard. I tried connecting a controller and it didn't help me interact with the door. Trying to click on whatever door is there results in clicking on the terrain above the door as seen in the screenshots already posted on this ticket.
1.3.2.0_4307136 still an issue.
I was able to access it once when playing online with someone who is also using Windows 10, keyboard and mouse, for some reason the camera then was at a different angle . Second time we went through same problem, the camera was different and we couldn't interact.
I later started playing single player & it occurs every single time for me now (3+ times through). Camera angle prevents clicking for interaction with door.
It would be really nice if interact was it's own keybinding.
This isn't a bug, but I'm still voting for it, in hopes of a change...

I can't access this room on my Xbox one. WTH. This needs to be fixed. It is not fixed on the Xbox one!

Mojang debug team rarely fixes bugs like these.
I bet you can still lose a life instead of a bit of health when you roll over the edge in the last level in a specific area, just like the screen is still blank in Minecraft Earth when you load the game with a iPhone Max device and screen zoom enabled. And Earth has just ben announced as closing summer 2021...
I'm telling you, don't get your hopes up for bugs like these EVER getting fixed.
Update this ticket to be on multiple platforms. Sometimes occurs on Xbox one.
I'm fairly certain that this bug has nothing to do with what platform you're playing on, it has to do with the generation of the map.
In dungeons, the maps can be randomly reordered, flipped, and rotated, adding variation and a somewhat new experience when playing the same mission over again.
The issue is, when the map is rotated a certain way, the secret is unobtainable for some reason. I'm almost certain this is a bug, since the secret always appears on the map (which indicates 3 secrets to be found - I'm not sure, but I'm pretty sure the same 3 secrets generate every time - the rune, a golden chest, and the obsidian chest behind the bugged door). When you approach the area where the door should generate you hear the sound as if it does generate, but are unable to actually enter the room through the door.
I play on windows 10 and this has occurred multiple times, including on the latest release 1.8.0.0. When the map isn't rotated, the secret works fine and you can access the room as intended.
This issue also occurs in PC and the latest Windows and is only due to the rotation of the map. Please fix Mojang as it has been an issue for years. You fixed the long-standing issues for Arch Haven - I know you can do this!!! It would be very much appreciated!! Also and I think this might be just me - but 6 secrets in Desert Temple - and I can only ever find 4 - oh where, oh where art thou?

Fixed with the Season 3 update (1.16.2.0).
this bug was not fixed and is still reproducible. another fix should be attempted
