MCL-15564Launcher is open but it is not running according to MacOS dock
When you start Minecraft Java edition on mac with the option "Keep the Launcher open while games are running" deselected and click the Minecraft Launcher Application before java starts, the window for Minecraft Launcher opens but the macOS dock says Minecraft Launcher is not running. I am using the newest non-beta version of the launcher I could find on minecraft.net

Hello Josh – thanks for reporting this a while ago. 
This appears to be the same issue as MCL-15564, and although it is newer than this report, your report will likely be resolved as a duplicate of it due to it having more activity. I'm sorry about the delay in a response here.
Lots of other reports coming in for this (or similar) launcher issue: MCL-15564, 21235, 21275. I am running Mac OS 10.11.6 but I see other platforms and OS's affected. Please at least revert the update that caused this. Thank you.
